The gears are so close and the torque is relatively high at lower rpms that I find myself starting in 2nd alot, and even the occasional 3rd gear in winter.

Yeah I know that kills the clutch.

There are times where traffic is so slow that I'm short shifting around 1500 rpm's.

I agree...I short shift between 1000-1500 in traffic and bad weather and as long as you don't give it any extra gas it's all good.

I find if I shift at 3000+ into 2nd she'll put you through the damn windshield or at the very least give ya whiplash like the abs...took awhile to get used to the pull she has.

I don't play with the clutch in the warmer weather but on occasion with the colder weather and me being late for work lol, sometimes she's a little cold when I leave for work and it happens on occasion cause it's a rough ride when she's not warmed up. Now I just let her warm up completely before leaving.

I start in 2nd sometimes as well..just rev it up a bit and go.

guys, another satisfied customer w/ penzz, lucas. Car shifts into reverse no prob, second only grinds when tranny is cold, and only by a little. shifts smoother and easier, and feels like it accels, and cruiser easier too.

I wonder if I just put in too heavy of an oil when I did the synchrotech/lucas. Hmmm...

Well, thank you for all your help... and to solve the dispute, I looked at synchromesh, and as far as I can tell, it's a lighter, less corosive oil made for junk trannies that have yellow, soft synchro's - so as not to corrode them. \

Therefore, as long as you thicken it w/ lucas, I can't see it doing any possible damage in your tranny. Just be careful in really hot weather since it will thin out even more then.
