New tires.... help me decide

Just hit 20k on the tires and feel its time to get some new tires. I dig the stock potenzas but it's not secret the tread life on them suck donkey balls and are far from worth the price.

Just wondering which tires you guys have gone with. Keep in mind I'm looking for long lasting tires that work well with day to day driving. Not so much looking for the best as far as a racing aspect would go.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Been looking at the Yokahama Parada Spec 2's. Decent price, looked nice, and seem to be decent quality. Anyone had experience with these?

Thanks again for the help.

PS: Looking for decent brake pads as well.... thinking of going with carbotechs pads but any refferences would be appreciated as well.

Yoko AVS ES100's are a good choice.

Potenza S03's will give you better treadlife(30K maybe), but cost ~$160/tire

Doh just saw the other tire and thread section.... feel free to delete this thread...

but anywho now looking at the P Zero Nero M+S's.... they look nice and got killer ratings..... decisions decisions!

I just got the BFGoodrich G Force KDW2's and I love them. They have double the tread count of the stock tires and seem to be great for everyday driving. Also they look so damn nice on my ride.

noob question....

ours are originally rated at 215/45/17z

on the tires most are using I'm having toruble finding 215/45's.... how far can we acceptably sway from that? would 215/40's be ok? or 210/45's?

I belive that the 215 is width, and I wouldn't play with that, and the 40-45 is the height of the wall, which can be fooled with. Unless I am horribly wrong, in which case, shoot me....lol,

well they have 215/40/17 WR's in the yokahamas im wanting to get. just wondering if that is safe to go with

i've got 205-40-17 parada spec 2, and 215-40-17 specs....just to check them out...they are both great and i love this tire, second the 205 dont handle quite as well as the 215 i'd go with 215-40 or 215-45 IMO

those were one of my first choices, but i was told all season tires will never perform as well as winter tires during the winter nor will they ever perform as well as summer tires. just a pointer. the yokohamas has long ass life

Pkay - you may want to check out the Falken FK-451's as well. They're a VERY good tire for hi-performance street. Either the same price as the Yoko's or slightly less.

is there a difference between Falken Grb Fk451 and the ones you mentioned?

BlueWolfCry - same tire :) For ultimate dry grip & not worrying about treadwear, if you can still find them, the GRB-2's are excellent. The FK451's have a slightly less sticky compound, however do last 40-50% longer then the GRB-2 and are better in wet.

(We have tested the GRB2's in heavy rain and no hydroplanning even at 120mph+, yes this was on the track)

awesome.......i got some cheap daytona tires....110 a piece, and i have no wheel hop and they work great on the rain.....they're way better than the stock and last alot longer too.

i think i just might get them. if you know, how do they compare to other leading tires like toyo proxes 4 or the falken azenis st115s?
