it's the chevy cobalt, replacing/renaming the cavilier, I wonder if dodge will use this model for it's next neon?

sorry guys, as i have posted before: there is already a new neon.. it's called the Mazda3:

I don't like the new Mazda 3 at all, I think that Mazda went the wrong way with that car. I DO like the Mazda6 that is a nice car.

chevy hits yet another homerun for their new product line-up....first the SSR, then the new S-10, now this turd.....whats next chevy? gonna make a FWD four cylinder 4-door camaro?? Could you possibly ruin ANOTHER nameplate??

I, personaly, think the Cobalt is a nice looking car. It's very stright... no curves or bells and whistles on the outside, but it has the same appeal that the 2000 - 2002 Accord coupes had for me. Nothing fancy, just a nice looking car that'll have around 200hp from the supercharged 4 (that the ION Redline has), so it'll have plenty of get-up-and-go.

The engine sounds like it could be sweet... but American manufacturers have never "gotten" sport compacts, and lost touch with sports cars a long time ago as well (exception: Z06). It took a German operated company to make a successful "american" sport compact (SRT-4)... the Mazda 3, to my eyes, looks like the Ford part of mazda made it! I haven't heard much good press about the 3's performance either (at least the Focus SVT was somewhat fun to drive)... I suppose they've stepped out of the sports arena almost in its entirety: can anybody think of a successful American convertible (other than Corvette) in the last fifteen years? Although the've produced an enormous amount of unimaginative, cookie cutter, super sized, inefficient and gas guzzling trucks and SUV's over the last fifteen years...

And this rant is from a guy who wanted a Camaro from the age of 6 until i was about 20...
