yes, you can find anything on ebay cheaper this is true. but caveat emptor (buyer beware) to people on there. i get this from people on headers all the time "i can get it cheaper on ebay" and then they find that the seller has scores of bad feedback of wrong item shipped, item never received, etc

Keep in mind that all of you ebayers are hurting our aftermarket. While some parts can only be found on ebay, the parts that are commonly found through our vendors would be much more appreciated if bought through them.

If you see a lower price, all it takes is an email or PM on here to the vendor. I guarantee you most will match the prices as long as they don't get screwed. Most would rather kill their profit margin a bit than kill their incoming order amount.

Even with that said, a simple call or email to a vendor explaining that could yeild nice results. ;)

That Ebay seller is a Distributor. No dealer usually will ever be able to sell or beat that price. Distributors supply their dealers. If they are Ebaying to clear stock, they will significantly undercut their dealer's retail price. So Ebay is not technically killing the aftermarket, it's the Wholesale Distributors who should be distributing instead of selling directly to the end user. As a vendor who's dealt with distributors who sell to the end user, I have experienced this problem first hand and those same distributor's wonder why their product doesn't move or why their dealers cant move the product b/c they sold it at a substantial lower cost and consumers are accustomed to that lower price. This is an example of a Walmart size effect. Bigger businesses will always offer the lower prices b/c they buy in bulk. Smaller ones survive by taking over niche markets. However, because of the state of the current economy the big companies will flourish b/c people are tight on money and need to save money where possible, while the small businesses die off one by one. I'm sure many of you have seen quite a few small businesses close down lately around where you live at one point or another. This just makes it more critical for the small business to plan ahead and set up their marketing strategy. Currently the aftermarket industry is steering toward a better solution to this problem and it is minimum advertised pricing. No more price whoring and the same price no matter which dealer you buy from. Everyone gets a fair chance to make a profit and reduces market saturation, which is highly sensitive in a niche market. Maybe this explanation will give the consumers a little insight from the views of the performance dealers.

Umm, what? Maybe this is good for resellers but speaking as a consumer, this irritates the crap out of me. All minimum advertised pricing does is reduce advertisements and web sites to playing the "$Price too low to list!" and "Add to cart to see the price!" games like pro audio (check the front page of www.pssl.com for an example). Generally speaking, if it's a pain to find out the price, I'll just go elsewhere.

However, I'm not defending distributors selling to customers. That's just bad business.

First thing you're comparing apples to oranges. The way the SEMA market is changing to the MAP structure, businesses cannot sell below the MAP period, therefore you won't have that "prices too low to list" problem. If they are found to be selling below they lose their supplier and dealer account. For the aftermarket parts industry we have SEMA to represent every facet of the industry which helps everyone out.

Well no problem then. Price fixing is good for everyone. (headshake

Back on topic, grats on the new tails Mutmatt. For all the critics: that model really needs to be seen in person, on a car, and lit up to be fully appreciated. They're much closer to the look of Mazda's newer taillights and just match the lighting on the rest of the car better, IMO.

bump for the lit tails

sorry for some of the pictures they are BLURRY had to leave the shutter open to get a good lighted picture! meh

yea those look pretty good. better than most aftermarket ive seen...although i did see someone with a yellow speed here in Austin, with the cleared out CF tails, ones ive never seen before and they looked really good. not all crazy and alien like as ive seen

I have em on my car too

the look ALOT better than the bland stock tails, the parkin and reverse lights are alot brighter, all the red lights are brighter when lite up, and during the day the actual tail is a little darker. The glow in the cool circle pattern and the top lights up brighter when you brake. Looks sick with the spoiler's brake light.

the tail lights look like they fit the style of the msp better than the stock one which should be on my grandmothers car..... not mine.

they r pretty cheap and i am MORE than happy with my purchase. I bought em off ebay from some dude, if you want the name of the person that sold em, tell me i will give you his email, he said he has plenty to sell. $102 which includes shipping. I know ppl r goin to be like buy from venders... but i'm over that real quick, i have gotten screwed over way too much.

I know there's pics up there, but they r a little blurry and don't show how sick these lights look while your standin infront of em.

later
