new springs

well i finially got around to installing my new lowering springs but i have a question. I have read around that i shoud wait about a week for the springs to settle before doin an alignment. My new springs are suppose to have a 2" drop but at the moment my car is actually higher off the ground than with my previous 1.5" drop. So is my car suppose to drop some over the next week? If not ima be pist for all that work i did. thanks

You should of noticed the drop right away. The only thing I can think of is that your older springs were done and saggy dropping the car more then the spec. 1.5"

hmm maybe true. i put the old and new springs side by side before the install and the new ones were taller. i just thought they needed the pressure and weight of the car to start compressing. I sorta have the raked look which i dnt like. I like the front height but certainly not the back...too much wheel gap

Weird... but they should of been shorter if you compaired them off the car. Even if a spring is old it should still spring up to about it's original hight when not under load.

yes it already had lowering springs on. They were progress springs. 1.5" drop. I put on megan racing springs which are suppose to have 2" drop but instead has made the rear higher than before. My rear left sits lower than the rear right which was the same with the progress springs. Maybe blown strut?

a blown strut shouldnt really appear in the stance.. you'll feel it when you ride though. Maybe the place you got your springs from messed up.

well im hearing some clunking type noise from the rear, so im gonna need to put some washers on top of the strut tower bolt. think i will just remove both rears and start over. maybe i need to compress the spring more before tightening it down....? i duno i'll try

i bought the springs from ebay last fall sometime. just not getting around to installing them. what i remove to do the reinstall i will take pics

well after reading around it appears that the megan springs are too stiff for stock struts. looks like i'll be buying some other springs soon.....eibach? tein? Cheapest place to buy?
