New Protege5...what to do first?

Hey everyone...my name's Mitch and I just got a 2002 black P5. Didn't even plan on getting one after my 91 Civic died, but this was on the lot and I test drove it and had to buy it the next day.

I've already replaced the speakers in the car but I'm wondering what you all would recommend to do next. I know I want to get tints. I want to keep the orange night glow the same in the dash, but I want a new head unit...does anyone have a good head unit that matches the car? Thanks!

Welcome to the site, Mitch.

Good job with picking the best color. BLACK MICA is the best out of 3rd protege color choices!!!!!

BTW. Isn't it red not orange?

Do a search and you'll find it. I think Kenwood has some RED illumination HU.

BLACK rulezzzzzzz

Welcome :) Go with an intake or exhaust first, then some suspension mods, then wheels, then.................. Dude, you are in trouble now :D

Whats the reason for a new headunit. If its just for more volume then get an amp and keep the factory radio otherwise red is the closest matcha dn many kenwoods are bed lit buttons.

I have an Infinity Basslink amp and subwoofer, it's the kind that's all in one...can I hook that into the stock head unit? If not, I really want to have a head unit where I can add more speakers and will have more power.

The bass link will be able to hook up to the the factory radio just fine.
An aftermarket radio will not allow you to drive any more speakers then factory and unless its an Alpine V drive it won't be anything impressive as far as more power goes for the speakers.
Amp the speakers for more power. More then 4 speakers isn't terribly useful unless running a 3 way setup. Just to keep straight I tend to consider components a single speakers and not count individual drivers, its just easier to talk that way.

Get an intake.

As for matching the red...Rockford decks have the red fonts on them.

Hi Mitch and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. (stash)

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! (stash)

YEP....I added a 5 channel amp to my stock headunit....juiced up all the door speakers and added a sub too....now when the BAD GUYS peek in my window...all there is to see is a "CRUMBY" stock head unit...but my system rocks!
