New Pics of the DG Motorsport P5

The turbo kit is, without a doubt, a normal FM turbo with polished pipes. We're in a position to know - we supplied it :)

Yep, definitely the FM kit...I like the polished look of the pipes, I never noticed that until I saw the picture here.

It adds a nice touch to the show car. The powder coated black pipes look better under the hood of my car though.

i just want the c/f engine cover, that thing looks so nice, man my wish list is getting longer and longer everyday :(

Wow.....what a mistake. Nothing more. I think that P5 is right up there with the Delorean. The only thing going for it is the open hood.....and what lies underneath. What a ******* joke.

Those are MOMO X1 rims. I know 2 places I can get them for about 270 a wheel for 17". The inserts are removable and paintable. If you are interested let me know.

I am interested too, those are the rims ive been looking at. i need new tires for the front (peeling out) and i figured why not get rims and tires and make my car look nice while im at it.

I saw that car at SEMA and again at the hotel they parked at. All I have to say is that the fenders are not functional and the car was not appealing to me at all. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Even for a show car it didn't look that great to me. I give them props on all the time spent on FG, but not my style what so ever.

What do you mean the fenders are not functional. What would make them more fuctional than covering the wider wheels. Do you mean removing sheet metal so you can stuff the wheels into the wheel well. This is done to larger trucks when you want to stick on 40 inch tires without having a hugh lift?

a not functional wider fender usually means the fender just sticks on the stock fender, or has in the inside area the same as the stock fender. Ie. you can't fit anymore under it than stock, it just sticks out more (thicker)

Exactly. These wider fenders would not allow for a wider wheel. There would still be a rubbing issue. And yes I would imply removing metal and molding/bonding a new fiberglass piece to it.

That's just me though. This is a showcar, but also has a race side to it. The full FG single piec front end and FM turbo. There was time spent and I give mad props. s*** the car was at SEMA. But I'm just a simple man, mind always on function over form.

Uhhhhh you jackasses. RODCALIP5 never said the "turbo-kit" was a Ballistics kit, he just said "the kit". Obviously the turbo is an FM as you can see the puny little intercooler. Rod was talking about those badass gfx that were also on the Ballistics Unlimited Protege and the Mazda Streetcar Concept - which is in my mind the most bomb-ass Protege ever put together.

As far as this P5 goes, I know a lot of hours went into making this monster - and I think it's the s***. I don't know maybe I'm a fan of the bumblebee look. Afterall I grew up on Transformers. The exhaust concept and the CF front end are clutch. How sick is that front end? They probably save 30-40 lbs with that thing.

Uhh, then he should have been considerably more specific as all of the posts around his were in reference to the turbo "kit"!

And I like the way the car looks. I would have chosen a different color scheme, as I don't really like yellow and grey together, but all yellow would have been nice.

And the suspension consisted of the AWR catalog as far I know when it comes to third gen Pro's...Plus all the DG carbon fiber bits and FM Protege turbo kit.

Pretty sweet car for everything that was on it. I just would have liked a better color scheme.

its ugly as ****. i said that everytime i visited their site before i even ordered anything.

sorry I can't get too much carbon fiber. Also, the flares are not functional, they are solid all the through, you would have to cut your fenders and the inside of the fender flares to allow them to be functional. That DGM p5 rubs a lot, but they don't care, they don't drive it =)

I had heard they also blew the motor. But, since it doesn't get driven, they don't care.

Yup, they blew the motor, but guess what mazda just said "here take this one it has no miles" lucky bastards. Anyways they now have the roof rack strips on there, the car was featured in the APR or AUG  of HCI. And yeah they don't drive it, fucken trailor queen.

IMO that thing is one of the most over done and ugly P5s I have ever seen...show car or not...The burned orange and silver P5 at SEMA looked much better to me...for show car purposes I mean...

Honestly I thought the midnight blue P5 with the FM turbo kit and 4 sport seat mods made by DG looked much better...Better wheels, and better looking overall...

the fact of those fender flares not allowing any bigger wheels is ridiculous...it makes the whole thing look like a cheap "kit" car...You will have huge over hangs above the wheels, and the wheels cannot be any wider than before...

Come on men, there are much more purposeful ways to spend your money...The wheels are way overpriced and heavy, the kit looks like crap...The only thing that thing has going for it is the turbo kit, which overall is the most complete and stock looking setup this side of the MSP...

I like the fact that protege's are still getting worked for show car purposes, and for that alone I accept it...but an example like this is why European tuners laugh at Japanese tuner cars...

And about the fogs...I like them too...anyone can do that with some amber 3M layering, or with transperant glass paint...do a search on google for "French Fog lights"...and you will get some ways to do it without buying anything new...(besides paint or layering)
