I plan on replacing a bunch of engine parts in the future. Obviously with a $1k house payment, 2 car payments, credit cards and other things... it's not possible to do it all right now. For the here and now, I got the car where I wanted to get it for the show. Alot of people may not understand or have ever competed in a show with nothing more than a pure stock car and a bottle of Meguire's Quik Detailer, but me, its won me a trophy so far, so obviously I'm doing something right. I'm not a ricer, you wont find any bling on the car or chrome. I'm not into that. But I do like the Rally and SCCA cars. My brother races, my father raced and I will eventually too. The money seems to be the only thing that of course would hold ANYONE back. Anyone with an MSP will tell ya, our parts dont come cheap. If I had a P5, Miata or MP3m this would be hella easier. Hell, between the install times and paying between a few hundred for my exaust and over a thousand for the FMIC alone... who else has money after spending $2000 in bills monthly, not to mention another car in the house to mod? So, like any expensive hobby... little by little is the key.
And of course, as anything anyone does on here, some people will like it. Some people wont. Some poor guy can put a decal on his windshield.... post a pic.... and someone will say HA! THAT GUYS A RICER! But you know, he likes that decal and it doesnt obviously make him a ricer. But if it's not someone else's taste, someone is bound to jump on him. I dont really care what someone says about the way my car looks temporarily or permanently. But its funny how when I put something.... ANYTHING.... on my car, someone will make a comment about it (and that goes for everyone else that ever posts pics on this forum). It's too big, too small, too yellow, too bright, too wide, too narrow, fitment sucks, the couplings are wrong, is that OEM?... etc. But you know, if I put that same pic with myself with my tits hanging out and my hair looking funky.... no one would even say "hey, your hair isnt really my taste. You ruined yourself. I liked you before the wind messed up your hair."
But thanks to those that got the general idea and gave me good feedback on here and pm'd me. I appreciate it. It took me days to get it ready for HIN. Not so much concerned about what people have to say, but I appreciate those that know how long it took me to get all this done. It was put together in a matter of about 2 days. None of the interior was done, the pillar pod had to be heavily primed, coated, it cracked, had to be thickly primed again, then painted just to get that fiberglass look. Parts and labor just for the painting was $200. It's colored match with the outside. The front mount just got in Weds and Thurs. The parts were not all complete or wrong and I had to stop by a few places to get bolts and hoses. Tri-point Engineering sent the decals that were EXTREMELY difficult to get 100% straight and without bubbles. Then there were a bunch of other problems. I had to take a day off of work for the show, pay for a hotel for two nights. One of the pipes blew off at 10 psi after I got off the highway (luckily Ghost came back for me, we got it back to the house to make adjustments, but it gave me a right good scare)...... It has just been crazy. So for me, it's not just about the pics, but about what I did to get it to where it needed to be. The car got the exposure that it needed, a bunch of girls were yelling "omg, thats a GIRL'S car!" ( which in itself, is great ), some guys still think that I modeled for the car and not that it was actually mine ( which men need to think outside the box or stop thinking with their whoo whoo's) and the car will be a bit back to norm later this week. So all in all, a pretty good week. And I walk away happy and th3 fast3r with the new front mount at 10 psi with a good engine management and dual set-up. lol
