New PCM Flash for Tranny and Drivetrain

Sorry if this is old news, but wanted to share we just brought our CX-7 for an oil change and the dealer updated software for the tranny and drive train. They said any CX-7's coming through are getting this done automatically. The guy didn't know specifics but I'm guessing it was shift behavior and maybe AWD power delivery? I did notice a dramatic improvement in the auto tranny shifting as far as smoothness goes. Now when it kicks down from 6 to 4 or any shift for that matter, it is much much smoother. Very noticeable to me. I was thinking this may actually have slowed down the car a little by smoothing out the shifts but it does drive much nicer now. Anyone else get this done yet? Got my fingers crossed this will somehow improve gas mileage too...

I'm not 100% positive, but I did get a PCM update at my first oil change a couple of weeks ago, and I THINK I got this update.

I wasn't having the hesitation problem (at 50-70mph) but I have felt a difference in starting from a complete stop. Acceleration is smoother. Your perception tells you the car FEELS slower because you aren't get quite as dramatic a boost... but it's just as fast... it's just accelerating more steadily now.

Problem is... my gas mileage since then hasn't been great... but it wasn't great at the beginning either. With almost 2,000 miles on the car my last tank I got about 18 mpg... but on this tank it LOOKS like I'm only getting about 14 (with all around-town driving). I won't know for sure 'til I fill up again and I HOPE I'm wrong! LOL

Our gas mileage on our fully loaded AWD trim has always been around 16-17mpg with 75% highway driving. I'm hoping I see some improvement.
