New P. E. P/Pope Downpipe and turbo manifolds.

take the manifold off. get a sheet of 1/4" glass the size of the flange, get some 600, then 800 sand paper, some spay contact cement. glue sand paper to glass, drop flange side of manfold onto glass after wetting sandpaper with tap water plus a little sunlight dishsoap for lube, put on netflix, watch netflix while you spend an hour or two lapping the flange.. check for flatness, install, Profit.

the add insult to injury, pope didnt even tell me he shipped it til the day it arrived lol.. no brokerage. LUCKY! made in the USA ftw.

thought they were all studs, last time when i replace the manifold. i gave the shop all studs.

how much would it cost to ship the manifold to canada ?

i paid extra 60 at the door for DP brokerage and duty tax... guess it would cost me 80 this time

Stock is two studs and the rest bolts, more studs is a good thing so you should be in better shape than the rest of us. I can ship you one for an extra $20-30 on my end, it just depends on how far it has to go.

Another, less painful method of facing the flange is to get a belt sander with a quality belt and just be sure to lay the face flat on the belt. I can't figure out brokerage and duty! some guys pay it, others don't, sometimes its crazy expensive other times its super cheap. If you Canadian guys can give me any insight, I can be sure to ship things in the cheapest way possible. I think NAFTA should prevent duties, but most of the time it doesn't.

from my exp , the cheapest “UPS ground shipping" toward Canada gets charged every time (feel like its UPS way of making extra money)

(if not mistaken, theres like 3 fees, custom duty, $20 services fee, 13% tax on everything)

i think the ebay option of prepaying duty toward seller are much cheaper (guess its the buyer pays the duty to the seller, seller pays duty toward border custom&duty office/ shipping company , this way u skip the service fee and extra 13% tax at the door?)

also i just heard UPS dont charge at the door now a day , they mail u the bill later ?

canadapost(USPS) and purolator are pretty random , like 50%+_ chance i guess (i didnt pay nothing to the $500+_ packages i recieved from corksport or Taiwan)

i heard about the NA free trade agreement thingy, but dont know how this works.

someone told me i have to take some kind of proof showing its "made in USA" and take it to the custom and duty office for refund. but u probably wont get the service fee and 13% tax back, because UPS ate it.

Tax is a fact of life. Its nice to not.pay it but wheves if I do. Not like anyone local is gonna make anything better heh.

the steedspeed had a superb stock replacement manifold

its just sad i get to know them after they dropped the production.

i am trying to get a 2nd hand steedspeed T2 from London Ontario,(theres also possible of a greddy catback and Cat piece i can get) but havnt heard any reply yet.

so i might wanna get pope manifold and ask local shop to fab the cat to mate a MeganRacing Pro5 catback (which would cost me roughly 1560 + amount the delivery company charges)

Callphy, if you decide to go with one of mine you won't be disappointed.

I thought you already baught one of these callphy...

Seems awefully expensive what your asking. I paid $900 during the preorder phase for his manifold and a downpipe. Of course the exchange was better.
Did you already have the exhaust or still had to buy? I'm sure you could find someone to make a midpipe cheap. I paid like $100 to have my stock cats cut out and pipe welded in.

A used steed would be great but this is much more exclusive.

I haven't seen more cars with these yet but ill install mine on p5 this summer. Msp gonna hibernate.

i have ebay one. welded a brace between the flanges, its solid, been on for a full year without any crack/leak untill few days ago.

guess the flange couldnt stand the extreme cold winter and the flange shrink/changed shape slightly which leads to leak (have to take it off for inspection later on)

anyway i never wanted to keep that ebay one, was the only affordable ones i could find while waiting for 2nd hand SteedSpeed

the pope one would cost me 790CAD + whatever the shipping company decide to charge me, the exchange rate is really bad these day.

i really want that 2nd hand steedspeed if the seller willing to part out =,= i would take his greddy exhaust too

but hes looking to trade the rustbucket for suv...

yea... exchange is bad right now. im really glad i got into the GB when i did cause i basically paid PAR for it heh. well.. its an investment i think would hold its value. steedspeeds hold their value, but there are a lot more of them. pope is becoming something of a legendary presence in the protege community so i think if you got into one, and changed your mind later on, you could still make what you paid, possibly more. i doubt he will sell all 35 of them, or at least if he does it wont be at a pace to dictate a second batch. you really would have something super unique to show off at motor gatherings.

its almost a waste for me to stick it on my p5 lol. but its gonna sit int he box for a couple years otherwise. the downpipe you could live without, but get in on the manifold while you still CAN.

ill also reiterate, I didn't have to pay anything in duty for the manifold and downpipe. i just came home and it was on the porch. i think most car parts as long as they are MADE IN THE USA are ok.

also, if the rustbucket in question is NEAR you, buy it. swap parts, sell rust bucket, profit =)

Chiming in again.

Just to give any doubters an idea of how solid this manifold is... one of the lower bolts in mine fell out somewhere recently, and I haven't had the time to put another one in yet. I'll have some free time to fix this soon, but so far (roughly three weeks) there is zero exhaust leakage or warping from the manifold even with a missing bolt. At this point I'm pretty sure the flange on this thing could double as a hammer.

Good stuff.

Its a 1/2" of solid stainless that has been heat treated and then machined to within 0.005" of flat or less across its length. I went after the best part I could come up with, it took a long time, but I think the result is worth the effort.

P.S. a couple extra bolts are on their way to you.

Pope. Can I use the same bolts for t25 inlet and exhaust? If so can I buy like 25 more?

The turbine inlet will need to be studs on the manifold side. Where are you planning to use them on the exhaust?

I juat need hardware to bolt turbo to mani and then downpipe. I suppose I could reuse stock hardware but I have a thing for hex cap heh. Not gonna waste money on arp for exhaust.

atp turbo seems to sell the studs and nuts for a reasonable price... might give them a shot.

you make it sound like your hard done by lol. pretty sure a new pope cost less or the same as a used steed speed heh.

nah steedsp is much cheaper. caus that guy was asking 4k for the rustbucket or trade for SUV

i could get the whole exhaust system for less than a k or get the car and swap out what i need then sell it.

but that guys asshole, at least tell me the car is sold or gone, he just doesnt reply at all
