New owner!

2011 Mazda2 Sport
Hi all!

Have owned a 2011 Mazda2 GX (Canadian version of the sport?) for four days now. 67,000km on it. Mica grey, convenience package (ac/cruise/steering wheel controls/heated mirrors), along with alloy rims. Just put on a set of winter tires and have ordered a stubby antenna and iClever Himbox bluetooth mic/audio streaming interface. Seriously considering a SRI come springtime.

Was concerned about the lack of power going into the test drive, but was just thrilled at how it drove. In theory this will beat my partner's Cobalt in fuel economy, but I'm not sure I can keep my right foot out enough.

Welcome. Before you get the SRI, get the rear sway stiffener from Corksport. You'll beat that Cobalt on curves any day.

And have fun with it!

Well, yes; but not likely to be racing her down the street.

re: swaybar/torsion bar reinforcement
Need to look into how much firmer any suspension mods might make things; roads around here aren't always smooth (especially this winter with ice & snow), but our typical winters have many freeze/thaw cycles that leave the roads looking like a teenager's face come spring time.

I would estimate that the reinforcement only adds about 20% to the rear stiffness vertically. It does add more side-to-side jostling with uneven roads. Trust me, the roads are crap on Oklahoma USA too.
