2014 Mazda CX-5 GS AWD
Hi folks

Just picked up my 2014 GS AWD last night and am looking for some winter wheels. Someone has 16" 2007 Mazda 6 rims for sale locally. Will those have the correct offset and width for a 16" snow tire - 225/70 -16 seems to be a close match to the stock 17"? Love the car so far. Coming from a 06 Forester 5 speed. The transmission is something special in the CX 5. I really like the way you can ease away from a stop without the head snapping jerk you get in most automatics, in particular the new RAV 4 was bad in that respect.

Thanks
Brian

as long as they are 5x144.3 and have an offset in the 45-55 range they should fit fine. If i am not mistaken those rims are in the acceptable specs. They are probably 7inch wide.

congratulations on your new Cx-5..still love mine a lot after a year of ownership. :)

Thanks Zulu. I'm wondering if going to 16" wheels will affect the handling much? It would save some $ but since it is for almost 5 months of the year I don't want to make a big compromise in handling. Any advice on winter tires? I've been using Toyo GO2+ on the Forester (2 sets over the years) and found them to offer good performance. They are also quiet for a snow tire and wear well. They are a bit pricey here though.
