2010 White CX-9 GT AWD+Assist Pkg+Moonroof/Bose Pkg+Roof Rail
Wohooo...I just got my white 2010 GT AWD this morning w/ the following options - navigation, moonroof/bose and pwr liftgate . The roof rack w/ crossbars from mazdaparts.org is on it's way and am looking into which trailer hitch to get. I'm also deciding if I should get the headrest DVD's or the overhead display. Can't wait to take her to the snow...

Welcome and congrats!
Depending on your need for the hitch, you can go with the OE (classII) or aftermarket (classIII).
Check out etrailer.com for aftermarket ones.
For DVD, there is a separate thread for that. Lots of info there. Check it out.

thanks...definitely been doing a lot of researching and reading. this forum is a great resource (bowdown)

kegels - welcome

How is the leather seats on your new 2010?

Have you ever seen the leather on a 2009 CX9?

Finally, when looking for cars, what other crossovers did you check out and how did their leather compare to your new CX9?

thx,
tstex

tstex,

The leather on the 2010 seems softer than on the 2007 CX-9 that I previously owned. It has a really nice tactile feel. I don't know about the 2009 model.
Before I traded for the 2010 model, the wifey and I looked at the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and the Chevy Traverse. The leather on the Pilot and Highlander felt comparable but the Traverse felt very vinyl-like.
However, the overall package is what sold me on the CX-9...best X-over for the money!

I sat in a 2010 CX9 at SF Autoshow.
The leather certainly is very "Lexus-like", much softer than my 2008 CX9.
The old leather was more grainy and vinyl-like, similar to my old '98 BMW 540iA.
Who knows, maybe the grainy leather is actually more durable.

I am sorry but I just have to ask...does your username represent your last name or something important? Because all I can think of is of the book "Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy" regarding the "Kegel/s Execises"

LOL!

Hahahaaaa....No..that word just stuck w/ me ever since i learned about it during my college years. Very useful exercise by the way.

...a couple of quick question

I am confused when I read on the Mazda site and build a CX9 GT AWD...I want the back up camera option..is that a separate option, by itself regardless if you get the NAV or not?... or is it part of the rear view mirror only when there is no NAV?......and part of the NAV when you have the NAV?..does the rear view mirror has the compass when you have the NAV?..
I read about the smartkey but also read that there is no buttom to start...is the smartkey just a regular key that gets inserted and has a chip in it?...

Thanks for the answers...and enjoy the CX( in the best of health

If you order it with a NAVI system, the backup camera video is displayed on the NAVI display (MFD). If you don't order the NAVI, with "backup camera" option, the video is displayed in the rearview mirror.

I have the navi which comes w/ the rear back-up camera. I'm not aware of a compass on the rear view mirror however.
The remote smart key just needs to be nearby and you can start the car by turning the ignition - no push button start on the remote.

...Thanks Ceric...

I do appreciate your responses thay are always on and to the point...I do follow you also in Edmunds....in evry forum and when I have a question I always hope hope for you to answer, there are others here that also appear to be in the "know" and if they are not at least the answers are well thought out...thank you all and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010..(sorry..I am do not subscribe to the "political correct" theory)

Excellent question! I wondered why the "build it" option on the website would allow you add the back up camera if you had already chosen the NAVI system? That's $600 you don't have to figure in the price.Very confusing.

re: Backup camera on mirror with compass

Hi SVOFAN,

I am new 2010 CX9 GT owner. Regarding the compass on the rearview mirror, you get that if you order the HomeLink system w/compass and auto dimming rearview mirror. If you don't then its what Ceric said in response to your question.

Hi Kegel,

Can you tell me if you got something labeled "PORTFOLIO" when you got the 2010 and what does it mean? I hope to pick mine up tomorrow! I am getting one with DVD, NAV, Power liftgate, rear view camera. Its AWD GT. Exciting and can't wait to take her on the snow too!!

New... couldn't find "create thread" button...

Sorry if this is the wrong spot for this... but, was looking for CX-9 readers...

Just got the wife a 07 CX-9 GT... Black w/tan leather... Has the Bose w/Navigation. I'm looking instructions on installing the SiriusConnect kit. I've seen the instructions for the model w/o the navigation. I don't want to take apart my dash and trim if the install is different due to the navigation system.

I'm pretty comortable with auto electronic installs... so... if anyone can advise as to if the install is the same as the pdf I've seen (http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=108273&d=1179877997).

Thanks in advance
