New Owner 07' Grand Touring

Hey everyone.....been lurking for months on end and finally struck a deal yesterday on a new 07' Galaxy Grey Grand Touring with Espresso leather.

First of all, we love it. Have a newborn on the way in December and figured this would be a great vehicle for the family. Traded in my wifes 2-door VW Gti for it as that little car would have never worked for the kiddo. Also have two younger step children that are with us part time so the third row is a win win for us!

In any case we are very pleased and look forward to participating in the forums as I know the mod bug will catch me soon enough. For what it is worth we ended up paying $125 over invoice of 20,950 so it is clear that our local dealers are willing to get some deals done on the 07's!

Didn't notice until driving in to the office this morning that it has the HID's then I got to looking and noticed the blacked out front and rear housings are a real plus...good stuff my friends and yes I will post pics soon!

niceee....i wonder if i can get the dealership to sell and install the hid's for the 07 5's. i have a 06..

Can you buy the GT's HID's from the parts department? Almost definately...
Will you need to pay our the arse for them? (yes)

That being said, I'd like to know how much they are because this is the one thing about the GT that I wish I had on my Touring. The only thing to consider, which may be a deal breaker for me, is that they'll be blacked out bezels... which are fine by me, but not when mated with silver tails.

The factory HID's come with an in-car leveling switch that allows you to adjust the level up or down with four seperate settings.

...so when you sit 4 fat chicks in the back, the front end doesn't lift up and blind oncoming cars (shocked)

yeah me too...the only option i wish they had for the 06 is the HID's.

i wonder if i bought a HID kit online and asked the dealership to install..would anyone know if they would do that?

Lovin' it for sure, we had it tinted this morning and took some pics this afternoon that I will post tonight! I will probably add a set of chrome RX-8 wheels for Christmas and call her done!

Yay, you posted pics!!! NOW, you're officially a member of the Mazda family. Very nice, the black bezels blend nicely into the Galaxy Grey. Contrary to what some haters will say, I think that leather color looks great.

Nice ride ;)

I agree. Welcome, and the leather does indeed look nice.

TexasGT5, please buy two more shelf brackets and put them under the shelves in your garage before the stuff on them tumbles down and dents your new 5!

Nice MZ5 you got there! I'm a hater though, sorry. I don't like black trim and the brown isn't much better. When I buy a 5 it goes straight to an upholstery shop for an *extreme makeover* inside. Maybe beige bolsters with suede inserts for cool seats.

On another web site they said Alcantra is coming on strong for factory seating, also called Ultrasuede, which is a faux suede easier to clean than real suede. Maybe Mazda will use that next. At least TexasGT5 is in good company, Bentley uses brown leather in the Shooting Brake GT and about the same shade of gray paint.
