well from the looks of it the levee's broke once again and now new orleans is going back underwater. the lower 9th ward is already waist deep (about 10 min after the levee broke) and more water is dumping in everywhere. right now there are 3 known levee breaks.

It don't think it the high water i think its the ocean being at the normal level and N.O. is below sea level. Ya whomever came up with teh design is retarded

well when the french built there it wasnt that much below...new orleans sinks every year. but the majority of new orleans isnt that much under...only a foot or less in some places. now yes there are some places that are way under but were never supposed to be built on in the first place (lower 9th ward) but due to everyone wanting to live in new orleans they zoned it for res. the thing that was supposed to keep the water out also keep it in. thats why its so bad. below new orleans in some spots the water came way up then the next day it was gone cause there were no levees to keep it in. the french didnt have a levee system....they were smart. build on the highest ground and dont put up a levee so when the water does come it goes as fast as it came in
