I like them. I didn't think that they were really aluminum. Now if they only hurry up and make their way north of the border.

Nothing wrong with the two pedal action. I'm sporting the AutoMAGIC on my car. Nice pedals, i got me the typical Ractive ones that everyone sports on their cars.

haha, i was waiting for a clutch comment. thanks el ropo! the car's pretty clean for my standards! they do offer them for manual trans and i got the part number off of mazdausa.com. they are more plastic than aluminum, but for the ease of installation and considering they're OEM, i like them alot. i would recommend them thus far.

i'm still waiting for an accident to happen though, the pedal's being so close together is bothering the s*** out of me. my shoes often clip either the break when i'm accelerating or the accerator when i'm braking. it sucks.

ag bullet, part number for MTX is 0000-8R-L02. $70USD on MazdaUSA.com. Hope that helps!!! :)

That's the part# for MTX, Dannyboy.

The pedals are completely plastic, but they will probably hold-up a lot better than aftermarket aluminum pedals that require screw brackets. These are custom made and clip on very tightly. Also, I paid $55 at my dealership. They will negotiate on other things beside just cars... (drive)

hmm. title of thread says they are aluminum.. and you say they are plastic?

so which is it?

i'm wondering if the ATx ones will fit on a 3rd gen protege? can you measure them down to the mm (or 1/64 of an inch)? if so, i know a few people that would loooove those for their cars.

They just "look" aluminum. Sorry, I'm at work so I can't messure them right now. I would bet they will not fit any other car than the 3, but I can't back that statement up. The clips on the back of the pedals were design for the pedal plates on the 3, so if the 3rd gen P has the "exact" same plate size, they might fit.

i could have sworn the insert was aluminum, but I definately agree that the majority of it is plastic.

I concur. The shiny bits are aluminum but the majority is plastic. And they do fit very tightly to the shape of the pedal. Alternate applications are going to be very rare. With the fly-by-wire in the 3 vs cable throttle in Protege, I seriously doubt that the pedals are the same shape.

Oh well, I stand corrected. Sure felt like plastic to me, but I probably didn't examine them as much as I should have....

they just loooove plastic these days. plastic intake manifold, plastic valve cover, plastic clutch pedal, plastic radiator support...

must be a metal shortage somewhere
