no, those are called velocity stacks, there is no filter. and you will notice that the headlight is out right in front of those...

that's not titan's 8 second car, that is one of their street cars...
even so, you think that headlight stays in while at the track? and that filter?

Why don't the people that want one simple say "hey I would like to purschase a SRI from you, when will they be availible and what is the price?" and the people who don't want one or already have the injen and feel like talking about how great the injen is MIND THERE OWN FREAKIN BUSINESS!!!

This thread is not about how much better then injen is, and although comparision is ok, spouting off uselss information about how cold air is so much better for the MSP and the 90degree bend in the intake isn't a big deal cause the air is colder, no one cares, the whole point of this was Insidious offereing somthing different, an alternitive that may or may not be better for the car. All I know is what I see, and 90% of all turbo cars I see short ram intakes, look at turbo kits like the flyin miata kit, and the spoolin kit, they all have SRI, usually with a heatshield but thats not the debate. Also look at 1000hp supras and 300-400dsm's they have SRI, if it's good enough for them, and the HP difference is minimal, then I want the SRI, it looks cool, sounds cool, and I will enjoy it!!!

So insidious when they are availble and you have a price figured out I will take one for sure, just let me know please, thanks in advance.

We all love to get cheaper parts. I'm sorry if I offended Insidious, but I'm just balancing the pros and cons of the 2 most talked about intake on this forum right now: your sri vs. injen. I'm just offering a price comparsion, by no means do I want you to do it cheaper, cuz I know it's not economical to do a small run compare to a large run aka honda crowds.

About all the people arguing that this tuner does this and so this is the right way, let me ask you this question: why is the headlight on that skyline not there, why they not running with a filter?

answer: filter = another heat absorbing element=higher intake temp. headlight gone = ram pressure similar to a jet intake= no restriction and moving flow =less heat build up b/c of engine bay.

Once again for everyday purpose SRI and CAI are a matter of taste

Ok now those are all SRI on amazingly high HP cars, obvioulsy there doing somthing right. I'm sorry that's enough proof for me to see that a SRI although may not be better then a CAI, and although there is no hard evidence, it's good enough.

check out the position of all of those filters. 1) there is no other place for them to go since there is intercooler piping right beneath them most likely in the stock sidemount location, and 2) at the track, they can remove the headlight and then air goes right into the filter, which is why they stick it where it is and there are no gains to be seen by running cai where most supra owners care most, at the track
at least you heeded your own advice though and continued to discuss insidious' product

oh, and whoever designed that tri-turbo thing, that's just terrible

p.s.- just because someone else does it and it works doesn't necessarily make it the best choice, which is why everyone wants numbers since the 2 alternatives are equal priced

ya see thats great because they have them huge intercoolers that cool the air down, but when put one in a n-tercooler like the stock msps, you might as well stay with the stock air box, the cai would benefit us with little bitty n-tercoolers.
just my .02

Without a dyno to prove this theory, it's just that a theory, there's no actual hard proof that the MSP produces more power with a CAI vs a SRI. For some reason I'll bet the power difference is negligable to the point where a simple heat shield on the SRI will yield similiar gains to the CAI. This is jut my opinion and i am still interested in getting the SRI.

Hey guys, talked with Billet Design. We're gonna start off with a limited run of 5 intakes, most likely with heat shields. Price will be $215. Comes with everything you need, shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to install. Who's interested?

So far, I think this is the list:

MazdaspeedZOOM
unwrittenLaw
Emode
Black Majik MSP

We just need 1 more...any takers?

I found these 3 names as well:

blubyu21117
Delivery_Guy
DiscreetSpeed

They expressed interest earlier on in the thread, but not recently. I am going to contact them & see if they are still interested.
