Hi all, I have a True Red MS3 Sport. 1100 miles, 01/07 build date. Should I inspect my motor mount myself? My dealer is playing deaf dumb and blind on the issue.

K&N drop-in, PIAA superwhite low beam, and, 35% tint are the only mods so far, and the car isn't ragged on.

I'm familiar with searching for info. But nothing came up on what I was looking for.

My question is more related to build dates, what build dates are affected by the motor mount problem?

Yes check it yourself. Take your time and remove the battery and box. The bolt is right under it and is hard to miss. Even if you can't jack the tranny up while you check it, put a torque wrench to it set to 75 ft/lbs. If it turns, turn it till it clicks. Don't overdo it though.

It seems hit or miss, but the latest builds use a different bolt which includes an integrated washer.

I took 15 min to pull the battery and battery tray to look it over. The head of the bold was flush to the spacer and top of mount and looked fine so I left it alone. I wouldnt mess with it either way but if you think it looks like there is a gap between the bolt head and spacer/mount then take it in. Other then that I didnt try to put extra pressure on it at all since I dont think there was any need to.

Just take 15min and put your mind to rest, I did and now I can say that this shouldnt happen to my MS3.

PS I guess that spacer I see is a wsaher based on the info from tha prior post. My build date is 02-07

Umm Gentlemen you do realize you should support the enge/trans from the bottom and check the trq. If it moves any, then you need to fully remove the bolt get some redlocktite and then properly retrq the engine mount.

OR do like i did and let the ****** break, get mazda to fix it, report it to NHTSA and then tell mazda to give you your mazda bucks to get a free cai on them........ :D. the NHTSA is looking into this matter as i have been emailed twice and sent in photos of the problems. I'm betting there will be a recall to fix this issue SOON.
