looking for a motor forged or not let me know if you guys know some places were to find 1. i know protege garage has some but im not relly wanting to spend all most 4g for a forged motor.

i had my transmission rebuilt and a local shop well i got it back 2 days later i here knocking so i check the oil its bone dry the funny part is that the oil level was fine when it went in 3 days befor makes me mad but it gets me off my ass to make my car better lol.

I see. You need to have a goal in mind before you go looking for a motor. Protege garage is an excellent company, and the moeny you spend is well worth it with them on a built block.

You can piece it together on your own, but it'll work out to be about the same once you get your block machined and al that. Unless you can work a deal.

i all redy have a goal i want a higher compression motor so im gonan choose the 9.1 i only want to run 10lbs of boost later on.

Stock is 9.1:1....

Ten pounds of boost on an MP3 ECU = bad news. You will need some sort of fuel and timing management for that.

No way. Stock is 9.1:1 and always has been on the FS-DE 2.0-liter motor found in all Protege's that ran it.

what would u recomend i mean if i get the forged motor will it be any faster then stock? if so under what compression? like i said im not planing on turboing for a while.

Forged isn't faster simply because it is forged. All forged pasrt do is help make the rotating mass a little stronger to deal with added pressure.

Running 10 psi on 9.1:1 is fine (depednign on turbo size), you just need to make sure you have proper fuel and timing to make it safe. Even forged motors can be blown from doing dumb things.

Running 9.1:1 compression also means you will have decent off boost power, it will feel like stock.

Adding gas is what makes power. Adding compressed air helps with combustion, but you need enough fuel to burn with that added air or you will have issues.

all right i decided to go a diffrent route. i order a replacement motor off of protege garage with 30k or less i orderd a TWM short throw shifter and motor mounts. spent 1500 on every thing cant wait to get it all in and installed. :)

so far this is what im haveing and have on my car.

rebuilt tranny with ACT stage 1 clutch
solid motor mounts
twm short thorw shifter
AEM intake
30k motor

I would suggest this. I believe its an FS-ZE, the sport 20 motor, since it has the FS-ZE Intake mani. Cheap price too.... Just wish i could buy it.... Come to think of it, has anyone turboed the FS-ZE motor?

The FS-ZE is a waste of time in the 3rd gen Protege....

Yes, one has been turbo'd...No, it's not worth it.

i looked at thoes and i wasnt real inpressed i love protege garage now they all redy have all my stuff shiped they get on the ball im real inpressed.
