I spun a rod bearing in my car about 4 months ago just recentally bought a motor for the car to replace *mind you everything worked on my car i still drove it home just making a ticking noise* now i have bought and replaced the motor reconnected everything and now its hard to start only runs on 2 cylinders *1 & 4* and when i start to rev it a little bit it back fires anyone have any ideas * i already tried replacing the coils but still does the same thing with the new coils*

Start with the basics first:

Do a compression check on all 4 cylinders first.-
Check to see if you have spark on the affected cylinders-
See if you have injector pulse on the affected cylinders-

Make sure coils are plugged in properly (to the right coils, although would be kind of hard to do otherwise)

Make sure injectors are plugged in properly

Did the engine you swapped it out with have both cam and crank sensors?
Did you do a timing belt prior to install?

With it popping out the exhaust, makes me think that you may be having ignition issues of some sort. The only thing 2 and 3 share is the coil. Do you have any trouble codes?

have spark have fuel and it is on different cylinders not 1 & 4 i think my timing is off though that is what i am going to try next is checking my cam timing b/c i think it is 180 out b/c i have everything else needed but it would be the only thing to make since to be backfiring at the exhaust...

i used my old vavle cover *so it has the cam sensor from that* and i changed out the crank sensor b/c i thought that might have been the problem as well and i had to change the knock sensor b/c the motor had one but it was a 1 wire instead of a 2 wire like the MP3

WHat year engine did you install? Might be a different crank pulley. Was there anything different about the cam sprocket in regards to its sensor?

there was no cam sensor on the old motor on the vavle cover which is why i used my old one.. b/c the motor i got did not use id coil packs it had a dizzy or a solid coil pack for all 4 cylinders lmk if there would be a difference and i need to just swap the heads around

fixed the problem was 1 tooth off on my exhaust cam that was all.. but now it wants to try and idle and it goes up then down then up then down then dies but if i hold it at 3k rpms it runs nice and smooth would that be a IACV?
