New Message Dialog Box

Happy Monday morning all,
Anyone know of a way to shut off the New Message dialog box? I love having my phone paired for phone, bluetooth audio and Pandora, but the dialog is useless.

If you're using an iPhone you can go into the settings on the phone. I can't remember the name at the moment, but if you go to the bluetooth menu and press on the arrow next to the Mazda pairing it gives more options, one of those turns off the new message notifications that the car can't do anything with.

Thank you. Didn't think the setting would be on the phone. Settings, Bluetooth, blue arrow next to Mazda. Shut off Show Notifications.

I'll see if that makes a difference tonight.

That must be iPhone specific, I looked at the Z10 from the FairBerry company.... There are settings but none will stop the pop up. No Go for moi, time to switch... too bad it is my corporate device. And downloading the messages... no go either, just times out. Oh well, it still plays over bluetooth.

Yeah I wish I can remove this from my Android phone too. Previously to Android 4.3 with CyanogenMOD rom, it didn't support Messages so I didn't get the Popups on the Nav system, but now that I'm 4.3 with CM, it comes up and it's annoying.

I'd say it is dangerous because it does not go away and overlaps the NAV system completely. Only by pressing "download later" will the screen clear (reaching over) or by pressing audio and back to NAV. I wonder if there are still tubes in the head unit.... (just kidding)

You can turn off the message - but it also disables the incoming call popup.

Go to Phone -> Do not disturb (something like that, I'm going from memory) and enable that. It says that it disables the popups. Doesn't seem to be any way to disable only the messages one, although I wish there were :/

I have raised the issue with MTO (Ministry of Transportation in Ontario) and Mazda Canada has asked me to contact them as well. I will certainly do that!
