Mazda 3, 2010
First off....I have just purchased a 2010 Mazda 3 Grand Touring with the manual trans. What a great little car! I traded in my CTS-V (I am still crying) that I rarely drove due to the poor gas mileage. Not a problem with the Mazda! This 3 is actually MUCH more refined than the Cadillac, and has many more features also. I did not expect that....and am very impressed. Now that I have a car that gets great gas mileage, I can park my other cars and drive this daily!

ANYHOW.....

The one thing I cant stand about this car is the ugly colors on the guage backlights. I want to change them to something more monotone......ie clear/blue. The blue/red/orange freaks me out right now and give me headaches

I read a post, not sure if on this site or some other Mazda forum a few weeks ago, about a guy that did this on his car. It looks like it involves a lot of desoldering and replacing surface mount LED's. Rather than hose up my stock cluster, I bought a spare to try it with. First, can somebody help me out with refinding that link? It was an AWESOME write up with pictures, etc. Second, I want to make sure this thing remains legal. Can I replace the circuit boards between the two clusters without screwing up my miles? I dont want to hose anything up. Third....anyone have a good source for some decent LED's that would work? A bright blue or a bright white would be perfect.

Thanks for the help in advance....I look forward to many years of enjoyment with this car.

sorry broken link, but this is the url-http://**********************/index.php?topic=26798.0

Thanks! Yeah, I was seeing that link wasnt working right :( Oh well. Is it on this site, or some other one?

My car is an NA version with the 2.5. I *wish* the Speed came in a sedan version....that is what I would be driving right now!

BTW, that is one fine looking ride you have.....nice!

sweet lets see some pics soon! Yeah, it's another forum, I did a mazda 3 dash lights search and it came up close to the top.
