Hi All.
I just had the personalization settings done on my 2010 M3, which has Advanced Keyless Entry, and one of the items I changed was to have the car Auto Lock when the advanced key is outside the active perimeter. However I now notice that there is one audible beep when I close the driver's door (the door does not lock), and then the normal, single beep/lights flash when I move outside the perimeter (doors lock/security armed). This can be somewhat annoying especially when closing the drivers door (one beep), opening the back door or hatch to get something and then closing it (another beep), then walking away from the car (3rd beep/lights flash). The dealer wasn't sure if this was normal, but said they would set the Auto Lock feature back to deactivated, if I wanted. The manual states that all doors must be closed before the key is removed from the active perimeter, so maybe the first beep(s) is the confirmation that all doors are closed? I know there is a setting to disable the beep entirely, but I like the audible confirmation that the car is locked.
Just want to be sure this is the way it supposed to work before deciding whether to keep it turned on. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
