Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself. I've been searching around for a new project car and I actually narrowed it down to a Mazda Protege5 wagon. I actually test drove one a month ago and it def. lacks in the power department but it handles great. I'm not new to the car scene. I own a 04 Hyundai Tiburon which i have pics below and also I used to own a 93 SR20 Powered 240sx which was a fun car but I recently sold it. Hoping to frequent this site more often hopefully I can find a P5 for sale around my area. Had to drive an hour just to see the one I test drove. Damn it's hard to find a 5-speed wagon..lol

Welcome to the party. I'm not a fan of the P5 because my ex had one and I hated it, maybe because it was automatic. Anyway since I'm bored I did a search for you and found some locally:

there were a few more but you get the idea. Happy hunting.

edit: I'd go for the 2nd or 4th one, in that order. 41k miles for $8k (probably could swing $6,500 cash) is a steal. And if driving an hour is too much, don't expect a great car lol. I drove almost 2 hours for my Miata and some people will actually fly for the car they want :P

i just bought a 03 Protege5 for 6,000...with 85,000 miles. I love it. No problems so far. Your right it does lack some getty up but still really fun to drive. i would strongly suggest that you get a 5 speed tho. i doubt an auto would be as fun. Good Luck with the search i hope you find one.
