This thing is a BEAST! Once I shift into third and forth, it feels like you're being pushed back into your seat! The handling is very impressive as well.
Mean throttle noise as well. I love this car and I wouldn't trade it for anything else!

My planned modifications for this car includes:
Gram Lights 57Maximum 18" rims for the summer
Mazdaspeed CAI (any links for this?)
New Engine Mounts(any ideas for this?)
Couple of braces
Possibly a new exhaust system, but I love the current one. The sound it makes is so awesome!
I might lower it as well, but I don't know yet. I like the current height because if I lower it, then the undercarriage would get scratched like **** in NJ.
Finally, Shifter base bushings.

I'm glad i got the right car :)

Couple of questions...I'm in the market too and live nearby (NY, Yonkers)

1) The otd price?
2) Any extra goodies?
3) Customer service?
4) And how long your car been sitting on the lot?

Thanks

great choice, have had mine since dec. the cars a blast. just got my mazdaspeed cai from the group buy. installed it yesterday and i love it.

I keep hearing that you would have to reflash the ECU when you install the CAI. I'm thinking of ordering the CAI and then having the local dealership install it and then reflash it. Good idea?

Total with bunch of extra bulls***, 29k including interest at hand.
Just the wheel locks.
AWESOME! They work on my car ASAP and they have great service here.
I think 5 days? they told me that they shipped it to the dealership a while before I got there.

I think the reflash is b.s. If I read it right someone started that rumor due to the fact the dealer was trying to cover for the extra time takin. RonTonkinMazda a forum member called that dealer out on it. There is no re flash needed for the CAI install. There is a reflash for another CEL problem I believe.

Lookin good Blackjack! (nana)

My TR GT should be arriving to the dealer in a week or two. Can't wait!

Ah, yeah, recently the CEL light came on at only 150 miles, so we took it back to the dealership only to find out that the oxygen sensor connector was loose, so they simply connected it back.

Also, anybody having problems with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) ? It keeps coming on every now and then and I keep checking the pressure of the tires only to find out they are all working fine. Oh well.

Since my car is at home and I'm in college, my mom..er...dad is taking it back to the dealership for a special coating of the exterior and then new license plates. :)

I should have it up here for college by Easter weekend. :)

JUST the car was 24k, then a bunch of extra stupid charges put us at 26k.
Finally, they told us that the interest price over time would put us at 29k.

I don't know lol....I'll have a look at the receipt when I get my car back and I will let you know of it.

But at the same time:

CAI=a bit of extra power

CAI+Custom tune=Lots of extra power.

At least with Mustangs the difference is about 15 hp for just the CAI compared to 35+ with custom tune.

Its just a computer reflash to tune the car to work with the cold air better.

For Mustangs, you would use a Diablosport Predator or SCT Xcalibrator. These are handheld tuners that plug into the diagnostic port of the ECU. There must be similar products for Mazdas.

With a Predator tune, I could add 20-30 whp to my car while still remaining stock.

The XEDE...not yet P&P, but it's the first piggyback. A few folks have one....Rotus I think and also.....gosh, there's a guy on here who has nearly every aftermarket upgrade imaginable...Nutari....I think the XEDE helps with most bolt-ons and can be mapped for individual upgrades either now or soon.

Hey BlackJack! I totally parked next to you at the Madison YMCA the other day, I was in my black 3s sedan. Nice to see a speed3 in the area :)

Madison YMCA? I wasn't there recently lol sorry.

but i'll be sure to talk to you for a meet in NJ.

Any meets going on in central Jersey during the summer?
