anyone have the new mazda3 2.5L engine? how does it run ? anyone have picture on the engine bay?

From what I understand, it's the same engine/setup as the 09's. The 2.5 is the 2.3 w/bored out cylinders. That's all.

Is the 2.5 engine stronger and better than the 2.3? Any other differences, beside the size of it.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if this 2010 is a better car. (uhm)

I read that the biggest differences are that the interior got even better and the shifter in the regular 3 is better than any outgoing 3 / MS3.

The increased hp probably just offsets the increased weight.

I like the overall shape and character lines, but IMO the nose is a downgrade from the outgoing model.

I test drove an 2010 Grand Touring sedan today with automatic. We used to have an 04 Grand Touring sedan automatic so I thought it was a decent apples to apples comparision.

In general I thought it drove much better and is an overall improvement. Styling is of course subjective but the interior appeared very well put together and seemed to be better materials and finish. The dash appears busy and not as simple as the last model. Handling felt more planted and responsive than the 04 we had. The brake pedal feels artifical until you get past 1/4 travel then the feel is more normal. Power increase likely offset by weight increases as the butt dyno didn't notice any extra oomph from a few stoplight drags. Interior was nice. New features were nice also. Dual zone climate control, xenon lamps turn with the car, comfy seats, etc...

I'd buy one if I were in the market for another car right now. For the price and features, I don't think there is anything else that can touch it.

Awesome to know. This will help me in deciding. Thanks to all.
