new mazda3 turbo kit?

So my really good friends brother is huge in the civic world (he has a del sol that ran something like a 9.56 @ 156 or something). Anyway, he owns his own little company here in SLC called Phantom Motorsports ("PMS. give your car attitude" - i love that). Anyway, I was talking to my friend tonight and got a few pictures of it. I have no idea on the specifics at all, but I just thought I would show you guys. He is gonna sell it for somewhere between $4000 and $4500, but I am gonna try to talk him into getting me a deal since I am his brothers good friend Anyway, the only teaser pictures I could get.

oh yeah, and the best part is, this car is his wifes. He is still waiting on the microchip ecu, so she drives this around with all that in it just not running any boost. (boom07)

yeah, I know he was talking about two different turbos, a smaller one for street kit, and a bigger one for drag. he didnt state either though. I will hopefully be talking to him soon about a sponsorship/representation

hah, the clothes will be staying on. my friend actually says his brother will be looking for a way to get his info out there, so I may have a good chance!

Also, I am expecting some big numbers from this kit. The guy designing it actually doesnt have accurate whp numbers for his civic because his dyno wont hold it or something. his highest number before he started slipping was 940whp.

Nice, more choices. Hopefully by the time I am man enough to buy a turbo the prices will come down. I cant wait til the mz3's have a huge aftermarket selection. Seems like only a matter of time

Not really. I was with the guy on saturday and we discussed the kit a little, but spent most the time on the rsx we were working on.

He did not have the 3 there as I was hoping. He did say the turbo he will be using is a Precision SE50 with a stage 2 wheel(I think, maybe SC, I dont know much about precision turbos but he swears by them). He will be shooting for 270 whp at 7psi with the base kit.
I also slightly discussed the differences between his kit and other kits (mostly hiboost). He says his will be better simply because of his EMS he will be using. He is having microtech (again, I believe thats what he said, i wasnt taking notes) make the EMS right now. He says it is better than the Haltech because the Haltech has no ignition control, so when the VVT kicks in, it gets "pissed off" as he says and the power band gets all screwy. I cant wait for the EMS to get in and get some dyno charts.
He is also trying to get a hold of a 2.3L block (I am helping him, and we have one in the works). He wants one so he can tear it apart and learn more about it and get parts made.

Hey guys, just thought I would update this.

I have been speaking with Jasen (owner of Phantom Motorsports, designer of the kit) and we have been working some stuff out with the finalization of this kit. Still waiting on the microtechs, but the kit is almost complete.

He just told me that once the kit is complete, he will be trying to put together a group buy (not sure on exact price yet). He is also possibly going to include a 3" exhaust with the kit, but that depends on whether or not he can keep it within his target price range.

I have also been speaking with Ken, and there is a great chance this kit will be available on his site at mazda3online.com
