New Mazda Owner (oil chage)

So the first oil change i did i used mobil 1 5w20 i was just wondering if thats the right one to use? Or should i do 5w30?? Need some advice!!
I have a 2008 mazdaspeed 3 disi turbo 2.3 its stocked

You can use 5W20, but the car calls for 5W30. The 5W20 will not harm the engine.

For MS3 this is what I have found:

5W-20......will cause high oil consumption

5W-30......will cause lower oil consumption (I had about 1/2 quart in 3K miles)

5W-40......No oil consumption at all (running Shell Rotella T6)

Not sure why someone would use 5W-20 in a turbo car. If you are going for max gas mileage...maybe 5W-20. If you are concerned about max engine life...5W-40 synth.

Just use Shell a Rotella T6. 5w40. Period. This is the best choice for the MS3, especially one that is older and likely to have over 50k miles. Equally important is using a good oil filter. I just buy those from Mazda.
