New Mazda Club

I talked to Amber on the phone a few minutes ago.. and we like Mazda Enthusiasts.
So.. since she can't get on the boards from work, I told her I'd post it up!

I think thats cool...doesn't leave any misinterpretation on what the club is about.

eh, just "Mazda Enthusiasts" sounds too, too....dorky, plain, non-specific, generalized, infantile.

It needs to have the location. Besides, Im sure there are people all over the country that refer to themselves as mazda enthusiasts, but they arent part, or my not even know of our club.

I kinda like MAME too, though Mid-Atlantic Mazda Association offers an amusing acronym. Look out, other clubs, here comes MAMA!! ;)

As for my posts about MSCW, I was certainly not trying to discourage the formation of another club, I was just offering open arms from the existing club. They set up Dru and I as Protege' coordinators to bring more Protege' folks into the club, and to integrate that all-Mazda club with the online Mazda owner communities. I agree with Dan that they need a forum, though frankly I'd like them to get a sub-forum on here like Pro-Mazda has/had.

Anyway, if you all form something else, I'd like to be in on it. I've really enjoyed all the events I've been able to be a part of through this forum, and the great folks local to me.

How about this?

it's an arcade game emulator.. i use a different one to play pinball games on the PC.. has the real sounds, real LCD displays, and real playfields (which have to be rendered)..

edit: it's called VpinMAME for those interested..

nah, I think enthusiasts is better. "tuner" insinuates your car must be appropriately modded, but I think we are open to stock cars...enthusiasts fits the attitude of the club better.

Hmm - I find myself agreeing again.

Hopefully you folks figure something out when you meet for the install/garage meet (jealous!) this weekend.
