of the 3 choices up there, i think the 3 is the best option over all. very safe ride and it has a level of build quality and interior refinement you dont get on the civic or cobalt. welcome to the forum.

Hey guys, yeah i do have my mind made up pretty much.. I LOVE THE mazda 3, i just have been lookin around for a while because it is alot of money, and i want to see if as many people like the 3 as much as i do. i am going to test drive both in the next couple of weeks, and hope to find that i like the 3 the best. i wont be getting the si , becuase of course i am 18 and insurance on teh 3 is already 9000+ a year.. Yeah, ****** sucks being a young male. I really appreciate all of your information you guys have been giving me and i look forward to comming to this forum as a official Mazda owner.

If your parents are concerned about safety, keep in mind that most of the crash test ratings for the 3 don't include side airbags, the 3 has the same underpinnings as the Volvo S40 and shares much of its safety technology with the S40 and consider the stopping distance and handling of the 3 and you'll have a car that's as safe (with the ABS/SAB/SAC package) as the Civic and the 3 will be better suited to avoid an accident than most other cars in its class.

Well if I haven't drove a Mazda 3 but both my parents have 06 Civics... my dad has a Si and my mom has had a EX sedan (wrecked) and now a EX coupe. The Si is very nice and pretty quick. The sedan got wrecked because a guy ran a stop sign and my mom and bro hit the car going 110+ kph. they walked away with a bit of whiplash and my little bro got a black eye. Let me tell you the civic is great in a crash.

Yeah man, its expensive up here in Canada (thats canadian money too, but they are pretty close now a days.) i couldnt believe it myself when i called the insurance company. i have never had a ticket, no accidents, i have my full license and its still a ripoff. i dont understand how you are 21 and have a 350+ hp. car and another car. if i did that i would be paying insurance out of my ass. holly s***.
well, i have just come to accept that no matter what i will be paying that much for insurance, i may put my sister on my insurance and take her insurance on her 01 cavalear, but it will still be 6 grand.
oh well, its just money eh. lol

Btw. I pay $136/mo. on my supra but I get a multi car discount because of teh celica. When I first got the car, it was $215/mo. (this is USD)

hawkins, get the 3. As stated before, the crash test ratings done on the 3 were without the side airbags. Plus it's one hell of a lot better looking than the civic

i have to be on my totally own insuranace, becuase my dad owns a construction company so my parents have like 100 trucks under their name, and they cant add me in case of any accident or ticket, i will screw up the company inusurance.. unfortunitally..

I can't believe you're willing to even own a new car for insurance that price. The price on insurance alone would be enough to force me to move to the U.S. Your insurance on a car is almost my rent on an apartment. Well, almost, I guess $700CD is like $550USD, but that's still crazy. My insurance might not be that high on a BMW M3.

I'd be riding a bike (and I don't mean motorcycle).
