This new law is stupid to say the least and costing us money we dont have to spend. The dealers are loving it. Im going to try and have auto zone turn the light off again this weekend and take it right to an inspection place. I just hope they wont take off my old sticker so im unable to drive. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You have to drive the vehicle appx. 100 miles to clear the codes completely. If you dont, then the emissions test computer will read the codes and relay a failure. The emissions tester I use told me this.
I have been having a problem with my cars check engine light. It comes on only in the Tri-cities area of central Washington and happens each time we travel through there. My mother-in-law has been having the same problem with her car in Oregon. Her mechanic says that some cell phone towers emit frequencies that trigger the computer in some cars. When the cars are tested because of the light, there is no real problem, just a bunch of little things. When the light is cleared, it stays out until the car is driven in certain areas. Then it comes back on. If the problem was real, the light (after being reset) would come back on in a couple of days and show the same diagnosis codes as were originally found. What a way for your mechanic to make a quick $85-100 diagnosis fee..

October 1st, 2007 at 4:35 pm I had the light problem on my Dodge van. Took a few screws out of dash, removed the light bulb from that dashlight. Ive passed inspection three years in a row. Everything works fine, good mileage. It appears the mileage reading odometer has more to do with that a silly light coming on than anything else. Try ityoull like it. Keep the oil and filters changed, run an occasional injector cleaner through your gas tank, and have a simple tuneup done once a year and your vehicle will last and last and last. Its worked for me, and it will for anyoneits just the nature of a cold piece of machinery.

The CEL is going off in Amanda's Jeep. The code has something to do with a failed catalytic converter. Given that the car has 112K on the original exhaust it doesn't surprise me. She's due for an inspection in June so we'll probably replace the entire exhaust before that and hope it resolves the issue. We've been clearing it by disconnecting the battery but now it comes on within a few miles.

i'm not for any more taxes on anything! we're fieakin taxed to death in this state...and what do we get for it?
MA has the highest flat personal income tax @ 5.3%
Ma has one of the higher sales taxes @ 5%
MA has fees for everything which is just another way of taxing you
If the gas tax is goes thru we;ll have the highest in the nation at almost 60 cents a gallon!
As for business, MA is the 2nd Worst State Tax Systems for Small Business!

Why do we need chips in our cars to track mileage? Doesn't he know that our mileage is reported each year when we have it inspected.

I love how MA is trying to get NH businesses to collect taxes for MA people buying. Tolls at the border!!

I think MA needs to trim fat 1st
