New hks intake...

you guys dont think its unique that a suv like the cx-7 has potential to whoop ppls ??...iono i have a fetish bout fast suvs such as the cx-7 and fx35s

Meh...It still an SUV..To modify it as if it were a tuner car just seems assanine

My wife has a CX-7 and, I can tell you that it will likely outrun your P5..... So, I can understand why people would want to make them faster ;)

They are tank's but their pretty quick for their size...I'm very happy my wife decided to get a CX-7 but the most mod's her car will ever see, will be a Lip Spoiler or AutoEXE Front Bumper/Rim's/Spring's/System....

I know for a fact it could probably out run my P5 but modifying a vehicle for the sake of modifying it just doesnt make sense, you will never see a CX-t auto-x'ing

It would probably be an ugly sight to see a CX-7 auto-x. But, I wonder how much those EXE suspension part's would change that though....

It doesn't really matter to me much, I have my car to take care of that need if I see fit.

Bottom line is that, people are going to modify their car the way they want reguardless of what anyone think's about it.

People gave me a ton of s*** for buying/modding my MSP does it matter to me? No!! When I started walking my friend's sprayed/swapped/high-compression EG/EK hatches the look's that I get from them are worth every penny I've spent modding!

Seeing this DISI engine in action make's me wish I had a modded one in the MSP....

Sorry, if I came across as being a d*ck in my earlyer post but,I was just trying to get my point across...

everyone has their own reason (s) to modify their car. (deadhorse

It'd be nice to mod them just to get up to HP numbers that the rest of the world gets to see. They're at 260hp we in the US are only at 244hp with a slight tq. advantage.

hmm wow i might sell my cai for this one o.o

yea it looks pretty guud if this came out before the cp-e i would have gone with it instead the dyno chart says it gives less power than the cp-e but i dont believe cp-e's chart any who

Well I have a 70 Bug that I have been modifying longer than you have been alive. Some would say that is foolish as it is just a bug.

But a Bug that turns mid 13's in street trim and handles like a go cart. I used to drag race it too. Many a V8 driver went home in shame seeing nothing but tail lights at a number of tracks across California over the last 28 years. It is currently going through a new round of mods as I am modifying it again before passing it on to my 18 year old Son. Milder 1915cc Weber motor new body work and updated sound system etc to make it better for him to drive. He is adding his tastes into what we are doing so it will become "his car" vs my old car.

Most owners mod cars to make the owners happier to own, look at and drive their cars. So regardless of what make, model, year, or cost owners will customize their cars to better suit their desires in their personal transportation. The freaking Commies mod those POS russian cars for example. To some that is just making it look better inside and/or outside. Others, it is making it handle better, Still others will want more power. Some do a little of all the above.

Does that mean they intend to race them? Some may but in most cases no so your rational for your comments is so far off the mark it proves your youth and your very limited and narrow view with regards to cars.

I am modifying my CX7 not to auto cross or drag race or to enter it in road racing. I do it because I feel there are areas where I can make changes which will make my driving experience better. So more power and better handling are in my cars future. It may never be an autocrosser, but I have dusted a WRX driver on a nice long twisty mountain road. So it is fun to play with at times.

Also once you get older and have teen age kids while I longed for an STI the wife reminded me that my 6 ft son needs more back seat room so she forced me over into the SUV, Cross Over car to get room for kids and our Dogs. So I then was looking for which of those gave me the most sedan like driving experience along with best value to keep wife happy. Insurance for the CX is way less than a WRX. If I want to go really fast I will be on my liter bike. Which makes all cars look slow. 0-60mph in 2.9sec...

Back on subject. I looked at that intake. It looks sweet but I could not justify the cost for a freaking air intake. I am sure that carbon fiber molds justify some of that cost but for me the CP-E CAI works great.

The HKS intake does breathe better, but from previous experience with HKS engine does get dustier inside quicker the filter is there more for looks than functionality like stoping dust enter the engine lol.

I find it interesting that the HKS dyno chart shows gains up top, whereas the CPE dyno chart shows gains in the lower rpms.

Personally I don't drive my CX-7 like a race car, so any gains below 4000/5000 rpms are great in my opinion.
