I am thinking of getting a Mazda 3s 5 door.
What can you guys tell me about it? What are the 1/4 mile times stock with the manual tranny?
How much aftermarket support is there for this car? Performace parts and suspension?
How is the quality of the car, interior/exterior?
How does it handle?
What is the widest 17" wheel tire combos you can put on when it is stock?
Thanks, I apretiate it.

Welcome.

For the money, the 3s 5dr kicks ass as an all around practical, sporty, affordable car that has handles well and has impressive power for it's (wimpy) class. Aftermarket support/parts isn't great. Stock 5sp 1/4 mile time is 16 sec.

Dulog, no, support for aftermarket parts isn't great right now, but it's still pretty strong if you consider the car has been out for less than a year and that there is a bunch of speed parts currently in development.

Like you said it isn't great and that's what I thought was asked -- how much aftermarket support is there for this car -- not why it's not better or could it get better. I agree things could be worse and hope they do get improve. I also think there is good potential that things do. :)

For me the big picture is -- I like the car, am glad I bought it, and even though some aspects could be better I'd still make the same decision if I needed to buy a car today.

Very true - that was, indeed, what you said. I apologise for not being clearer in what I was trying to state; I just wanted to clarify for potential owners that while the A/M parts scene is a little thin right now, it will improve. (cool)

I completely agree!

Thanks guys. I have been looking around here alot. Mostly reading about the cars. I don't want to do alot with it, I already have a race car. I just like it because it is a 5 door, and looks good. I need a car for my wife, kids, and I.
