NEW here

the torque steer really comes in when powering out corners with an uneven road or on a straight in 3rd (sometimes 4th) gear with an uneven road at full boost. it's definitely manageable but if you're not used to it, it can be quite difficult to maintain especially trying to steer with one hand. you really have to man handle it but I think it's fun

ok and question when i do a blow off valve i want to do hks ssq ive been reading about two different modes what are the difference ? recirculating and the otehr ? which is better ? and does any have a hks ssq sound clip

The car came with recirc. So go that route. You can get BOV, but it will run really rich between shifts and will get nasty pops too. I like the Forge BPV myself.

yeah, i have the greddy type s and running in recirc. you want to run these cars in recirc mode. thats how they were made to run

my opinion on springs is to wait. there are some good ones coming, jsut have to be patient. if you cant wait then id say run the eibach pro kit

The torque steer is quite manageable, but it can surprise you. I had a brown pants moment one day when I punched it heading onto a nice sweeping off ramp. There was a transition where one front wheel was on cement, the other was on asphault. The slight difference in traction was enough to give me a big yank on the steering wheel and I suddenly was heading toward that concrete pointy thing between the roads. I got it under control, but the point was made that if you punch it, be ready for a little reaction.

Couldn't have said it any better. The torque steer on this car is no reason to steer you away from this car [pun intended].

The damn windshield creak/tapping is more of a "problem" on this car than torque steer.

You will have tons of power going to the front wheels, just realize when you punch it sometimes the wheel may tug depending on traction.

as it has probably been said before...

263hp + 280lbft + FWD = torque steer... no way around it...

that said, i still find it pretty nifty how mazda has knocked it down a lot...

im looking at the H&R it offer 1.5-2 in. drop will i need a camber kit ?

dropping that far i am going to go out on a limb and just say yes. you will also need new shocks/struts. your stockers will blow out even quicker with that kind of drop.

I experience the same thing Rotus describes, but it got 10x worse when I installed a new wheel/tire package (18x8 with 235/40 Falken 452). Brown pants moments galore. One time was so bad, the car jerked severely towards the lane of traffic I was merging into and spooked an older guy in a Commander. He swerved and took out a Malibu. And all I did was gas it up an entrance ramp! One tire caught an asphalt patch and caused the car to sweve. (nailbyt)

Needless to say I don't run those tires anymore for daily driving.

so the drop will help eliminate soem torque steer ? and should i just go with the eibach pro kit for a less drop and avoid getting to much camber

since installing my springs. the tq steer is virtually gone. stock the tq steer is so strong you really have to hold on to the steering wheel pretty tight

i don't even notice the torque steer except in snow, oddly enough.

you get used to it. sometimes it's even fun. probably as close to riding a bull as i'll ever get.
