New here...

The real restrictions in the factory exhaust seem to be in the downpipe and cat areas. How would deleting a resonator and muffler correct this in any way at all? Louder yes, faster, umm, no.......

I'm getting my MS3 shortly and my sales guy is also trying to up sell me on a CAI and an exhaust. This was just last weekend.

I wonder how your sales guy is trying to sell you a ms cai when they have ordered a stop sale on them..?Call them and ask him agian if he really can sell you a cai.

I'm not really sure, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense trying to spend time upselling something that isn't available. I used to work for a huge car dealer and every day we'd have a quick sales meeting letting us know about the weekly ads, updated events and news etc. and anything as popular as the ms cai and exhaust being recalled would be a hot topic of discussion, so I find it hard to believe that their sales people wouldn't know.

On a side note, while I was reading this response I received two internet sales quotes from dealers...the first for the 8.5 MS3 Sport was $21,999 before the paperwork fee and TTL, and the second was $21,400 before the paperwork fee and TTL.

Does this sound like the going rates on these vehicles...?

LOL, I did a search within 100 miles for every Mazda dealer that sells the MS3 and requested an internet quote and so far they're piling in. I've had quite a few responses from dealers that say they don't sell the MS3 just the M3, which is odd considering I got their info from Edmunds searching specifically for MS3's...I guess Edmunds doesn't know the difference.

I just now received another quote for $20,999....the hillarious part is that it's the internet sales guy from the exact same dealership that I was at last weekend where the salesman was trying to up sell me the ms cai and exhaust. He alluded that he wouldn't be able to budge much on the msrp.

I guess after showing him this email he'll have a different tune.

deleting obvoisly isnt increasing any hp at all, but if the guy comes from a family of V8 cars he might like a little more sound to his ride regardless of whether or not there is power increase.

Many people who throw on a flowmaster on their v8 hardly care about the hp/performance gains as opposed to the sound it makes.

Cut the resonator and muffler and you'll geta nice sound to your ride irnbru83, not as sweet as the T/A V8 but still some sound for a cheap price!
