Hey every one sorry but I am new to the MSP and am looking for some advice on my new one. Let me start out by saying im not totally helpless I used to own a 95 tsi prier to that I had a 88 turbo 2 rx7 so I have been around turbo cars before. But this is only my second Mazda and I dont know much about the 2.0L turbo. First off the car is not stock it has a Thermal cat back and a injen intake. The BOV is recirculation into the intake. It also has two boxes one on the left and one on the right I believe to be some sort of management but not sure. The car has just over 50K and runs great. Im not looking for a drag car or any thing but would like to upgrade to a front mount and maybe upgrade from the t25 to something a little stronger with a better down pipe. Any advice or help is welcome. Thank you for your time.

ill start by saying welcome to the boards...upgrading to a fmic would be a nice upgrade, as far as changing the turbo, i highly recommend doing a forged rebuild on the bottom end first. The rods are the weakest part of our engines and it has been proven that the stock gt25r is more then enough to blow up a stock block.

As far as the 2 boxes, where are they located? Is there any type of writing on it or anything?

Anyway, if you want alittle more power, do an intercooler upgrade, fmic or smic, and get yourself a Split Second DSM AFC. Then turn the boost up to about 9-10psi. You will definatly feel a big difference in power.

You also may want to invest in a wideband for better monitoring. Dont forget to invest in a boost gauge before you plan to turn up any boost.

Sorry let me tell you what I am trying to do. My goal is a reliably low 200 mark at the ground with good response. The car also has a weird clip on the drive side when its removed the car will not start. One on the strips is burnt on it and you have to wiggle it around sometimes to make contact with the cricket. Like I said im not looking to chase down vettes or any thing like that just a fun daily driver and a weekend auto cross car thats about it. Thank you once again for your time.

One is mounted under the intake with a few wires running out the other looks just like it and is on the passenger side near the cam gears it also has wires running from it. The car also has RX-8 rims and has been lowered I believe with racing beat springs.

shouldnt have a problem doing that on stock fuel system, 10psi, and an fmic..invest in a wideband, boost gauge, mbc and that dsm afc.. you'll be putting down around 200...

I may not be able to help you, but a pic would help everyone identify it (the clip that is).

I will try to get a pic up on monday. the clip has 6 bars and a light on the end its small about the size of a silver doller
