Hello everyone, i'm a new owner of a p5......and a new member of your humble world here. I used to be a proud civic owner till I drove the mazda........ now i can say that i am very pleased with my decision and impressed with the handling of this car. I will be modifing my ride in the very near future, I did mod my civic to where it was almost impossible to drive on the streets. SO Hi, and i am looking forward to a whole lot of fun!

Congrats on the buy and welcome to the club. Where is Camp hill at? I'm from PA but never heard of it so I'm guess you probably central or easter pa. Well enjoy the atmosphere, it's a pretty cool website.

yEp camp hill is in harrisburg...central pa....... i travel alot westward, my g/f goes to indiana university of pa....thanks for the greet man

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! (stash)

Welcome. I pick my Silver 03 P5 up on Sunday.
My best friend and current girlfriend and my ex girlfriend are all from Camp Hill, PA.
They are out here in California now but when I visited them when I lived in NY we had a blast.
I visited club oddesey with my girlfriends hot younger cousin during one of their foam parties.
Sweet! :p

yep odyssy is the young crowd i think its 16 and up???

but i love my car, i keep wanting to drive everywhere forany reason. I really am happy with the overall product from mazda.

i have a question is ford still in with mazda???

cool i remember back in late to mid 90 the probe and the mx6 were basically the same car.....i was just wondering cuz you really dont see any ford that look like any new mazdas and visa versa

yeah they dont share sheet metal but they do share drivetrains and chassis.
Like the new Mazda 6- It has a Ford Duratec 3.0 liter V6.

why doesnt mazda use the zecotec motors from ford for protege class cars???? they have a reasonable amount of hp ...ie the focus svt

I think it's just zetec, ecotec is gm's new 2.2 ltr engine. But I don't know why they don't use it. Probably cause they've been using th mazda 2.0 engine before focii were around.

oh yeah my mistake, zetec.... i am really impressed with the mazda 2.0 130 ft lbs of torque....compare that to the honda motors that have no torque, i 'm sorry this mazda just really impresses me at all lengths.

135 ft lbs.

sorry i am all screwed up today ...130 hp and 135 ftlbs.......

still very impressive numbers for a small 2.0 liter engine with low compression.

In my opinion its not really that impressive.
A specific output of 65hp/liter is better than say a stock pushrod OHV design will put out but is not exceptional when you are dealing with a moden DOHC engine.
Now the Focus SVT 170 hp engine is impressive.

true but if you always wanted to void your warrenty on your car, you could always order a j-spec motor with 170hp. 1950 is not that bad, compared to a gsr integra b18c1 for 3300 and same hp. do you know the difference in the usdm and the jdm motors for the p5...the 2.0

For $1950 I might as well just rebuild the internals of my USDM P5 with high compr. pistons and a ported head.
The dealer probably wouldnt even know that it was done.

wow really...that would be seet what kinda of hp gains are you lookin at....and will it still be possible to turbo in the future?

Well It is just an idea at this point.
I think that with just bumping the compression up a point and using 91 octane gas with an CAI, catback and one of those racing headers you could easily get 170-180 hp.
