New Gauge "Pod"

There's a similar item available for VW's, and it ranges from 15 - 25 dollars for different options... What they generally do is offer it painted or raw, unpolished. That's probably what you'd want to do. =) How long do these take to make? I can't imagine it'd take long as you'd just AutoCAD/Solidworks them up, then send them off the the laser, right? =)

I'm not sure where I saw the VW thingy, but I'll poke around to see if I can find it again. If you could do one for a single DIN setup, I bet it would be twice as popular, too. =) At least!

Hmmm. . .I called the vendor and he told me $30.

That would be what it would cost me, plus material (not much), shipping and my time. I doubt that this is going to be cost effective.

I could make a single DIN very easily, whatever people would want, but I think it is going to be more like $50 shipped. Sorry. I'll see what I can do, but let me know if you find the link.

That's probably fine. =) I'm just stating what I've seen, is all! Hehee. I'm sure the end product would be a lot nicer from you. Who knows! Yeah, I'm still poking around for that link, though. I'll keep you updated.

The LEDs are for the J&S safeguard. . .I made my own "guage" for the knock retard. The LEDs themselves only cost me a like $2. The "circuit" cost about $15. So the gauge was like $25 plus some time.

I have yet to install the thing. . .long day today and the rest of the week isn't looking good either. . .but this weekend. . .yeah, baby. . .

Anyway, here's a mock up of the panel. I didn't put in the LEDs for the J&S yet, don't want to damage them, but you get the idea. . .I think the possibilites are endless in terms of making these panels. . .

holly s*** dude
that is some nice creative work

very original (thumbs)

Here is the actual install! (The trim ring isn't snapped in place right though, that's why it is a little crooked.)

This also means I have an Autometer 3 gauge pillar pod for sale (painted already too, along with the leftover paint!) $40!

bevis, how is the sun glare on the wide band, i have mine in my pocket with the lid upside down, and sometimes i have trouble reading it.

Looks awesome, not much free space left. I might need you to explain the J&S wiring, i think i might be buying one. How do you like it? you feel it is working correctly?

I haven't noticed too many problems with reading it, but my windows are tinted pretty dark too, so that helps (except for the windshield mind you). I figured worst case I could make some sort of "shield". Thought it might be cool to make a "cover" to cover them as well (for leaving it parked at the airport while I'm on a business trip and such).

Yes not much free space either. Still need to make a bracket for re-locating my radio to down below (always something to do with the car).

As far as the J&S, I think it is worth it and it probably has saved my engine already. Wiring is pretty easy. I'd have to find my notes, but I did save them, so let me know if you need them. Also, I have the knock only gauge and I could sell that to you if you'd like. It is like$75-80 new and I could sell it shipped to you for $40 if you'd like. Or just make me an offer since I no longer need it (having made my own. . .or I can tell you how to make your own, but it takes some time and effort).

Good job, Jeremy. My only beef is the 60mm gauges look a tad cluttered (52's would have been nicer). Good work!

There isn't much room there boy. . .because those are 52's!

60's wouldn't have fit! There just isn't any space. . .but they squeeze in there pretty good.

:wtf: they are 52mm, the 60mm greddy have the memory function

Bevis, if i decide to get it, i will make my own. I have enough gauges already a simple LED strip like you made is all i would want. I will contact you if i decide to take that path.
