are those little holes for your LED from your J&S if so that is totally pimp!!

Yes they are. . .

Here's a really crappy pic of my prototype. . .this turned out to be pretty easy to make too. And since my gauges and WBO2 are green, so are the J&S LEDs now too. . .no need for a J&S gauge anymore. . .Anyone want to buy it?

very nice work man, i really looks pimp.

for the lighting what Iw ould do is take the idea of buffed plexiglass/acrylic behind it and then go to radio shack and get a pack of 220ohm resistors and 1-2 blue leds, solder them together and wire them into a power source and they are small enough you can tape them basically anywhere to the back of the plate you have there, for the best lighting scheme probably one on either side of the mp3 logo in back or one right below it would give the most even lighting.

That stuff looks very cool, but holy s*** on the prices. . .LEDs are sounding better all the time. What I thought would be cool is one of the "Indiglo" lights behind there. . .but I don't know where I can get something like that. . .Heck I've got some "nightlights" in the stuff. . .just don't know how to wire it from AC to DC. The EL stuff would be the s*** though.

ill give ya $20 for it..:D

:D

Anyway, how big would you want the lettering?

I set mine up with the gauges all the way to the outside. . .I'm guessing you want them spaced in the middle more? I could do this as only a single DIN so that you could still keep the pocket or the radio if you wish. . .

damn that be playa, damn as for size of logo i dunno nothing to big though. damn i also forgot the size of my gauges. gotta get a ruler a take some measurements...also look at this way you hooking me up and you get $20 out of it, the hooking me part should be the most rewarding for you, really thats what i heard...

Dude you are so full of it. . .

So, you still want the full size, with two gauges in the top half and an MP3 logo int he bottom half. . .nothing more, nothing less. . .

Don't forget about the option of painting it a high gloss black OR putting vinyl on it if that's your thing.

single din would be cool if you can make it fit, i beleive they are 2 1/16in gauges..also how much $?

im kinda lost as to the led lights?? im sure it would look cool but what do they do?? whered you get them?? how much?? i think this would be really cool but id like to see an install first :-) will these be available whenever??

Damn... That looks really cool. =) How much could you reproduce something like that for? Seems like it'd be something of a gold mine, given some of the people around here. =)

I'm not sure what it would cost really. The polishing was the tough part, as the thing comes out pretty "rough" around the edges. They're actually straight, but they are heavily burred. I did it on a 1kW laser. I could probably get them done on a water jet, which would be much cleaner.

If there is interest in this, I can get these designed and talk to the vendor we use for the water jet. The laser we have in house.

I unfortunately will not polish any other ones, I think my fingers are still sore (I really did spend A LOT of time polishing it), but that was because it was stainless. I can make these out of aluminum too, that would polish WAY easier.

I have no idea what to charge for these. Obviously my time is worth something, but you can't put a dollar value on it.

I can make more and if I don't have to polish them, then I think they would be "affordable". I just need to draw them up in cad first, so that's the only deal, but if the geometry is simple, no problem. The logo took some time, but that was me being anal. If I can draw it, I can get it made.

So, what do you think one of these is worth?
