New Gauge "Pod"

Just got the "prototype" cut.

I made an insert to go where the radio and pocket are:

It holds four 52 mm gauges on the outside

Inisde, is the window and mounting holes for a Uego 1000 wideband.

Below that, the cutout for my Greddy Profec B Spec II EBC

Then the MP3 logo. . .because it is cool!

And the ten holes below that are for my custom J&S gauge which is nothing more than ten LEDs that fit in this panel.

Made it out of stainless, cut with a laser. . .have to clean it up some, not sure if I'm gonna paint it or just polish it up, what do you think?

It's so pretty! Nice work. What are you doing with your radio? mounting it down behind the cup holders?

That will be really sick when you're done, but I am also curious what you're doing with your radio.

I'm gonna cut out the lower part of the dash where the ashtray and lighter are. That's where my new Alpine 9815 is going. The tilt on the face will bring it out and angle it right where I need it.

Good bye gauge pod. . .
So, I guess I have a painted 3 pod full pillar for sale now. Can sell it cheap, as I'll have no use for it.

As for the piece. . .I can't say how much it has cost, because I got some people at work to do it for me. I might be able to make more if people are seriously interested. I can just "bribe" the same guys with that cash. It wasn't easy though, so I don't know what it will take.

I need to polish it up better, but if there is interest I can do probably have more made. Can even put a P5 or MSP where I put the mp3 logo (and within reason I can change the other stuff as well, just need to know exact sizes and such). Anything is possible. If I can draw it in 2 dimensions, I can make it on what I made this one on. . .

Cool!

I talked to your brother at the last Miller park autocross event.

He said something about your LSD. Did you get it in?

Later

Oh you met rice boy! :D Just kidding. . .

If all goes well, I'll be putting the LSD in this weekend. Or at least getting started. We're putting cams into another brother's car first. Then my car.

Heck, now I've got all sorts of ideas of stuff I can make out of stainless. . .If I can do this, the sky's the limit or something!

you ought to put a neon behind it to shine through the MP3 logo. nothing outrageous, just to light it up

Yeah, what Ryan said. some blue neon, just feint.

Dude, that's badass! can't wait to see it all completed!

are those little holes for your LED from your J&S if so that is totally pimp!!

to make the MP3 really light up, get some plexiglass, and buff it with 800 grit wet sandpaper, till its dull, glue it to the faceplate thingy, then put a neon behind it... it'll friggen glow.

similar to that one, but with only 2 holes for 2 gauges and mp3 logo...but it would cover area where radio and radio pocket are located

That is what I want to do, but I can't find anything. . .or more precisely I don't know what I'm looking for.

I was going to get some of that stage lighting film in blue and put that behind there because I didn't think I could find a small enough neon, plus I don't want to "see" the bulb behind there.

You want one that size but with only two gauge holes?
52 mm?
How big of a logo? Between the gauges, below the gauges? Can you get me a sketch?
