New Gauge lighting.. I'm tired of the fuzzy no contrast gauges

hey the Indiglo Gauge Faces-Reverse ones at corksport actually look good....not my style, i like the orange/red we got now, but yeah, the indiglos look bad ass

im down! I want to replace those lights really bad! Get a group buy and im in for sure or post a link to somewhere where I can get all these bulbs.

I have been looking for an orange dome light bulb. I made my own and it looks awsome at night. The light glows off the silver dash and the seat stitching looks very cool. Problem is I already burned up one bulb. I used ceramic/glass paint, but those bulbs get so hot I don't like to leave it on for a long period of time since the paint isn't high heat paint.

Didn't mean to go off topic just if someone runs across them while looking for LEDs. Gimmie a shout.

So far the second bulb is doing good it was a little lower wattage.

yeah ... I have an LX and the lighting is green and I think the ES has amber colored lights.. but both cars have black gauge faces..

looks more red to me... maybe I'm colorblind. hahaha

I don't want to buy the indiglo gauge face's and what not. You have to be very careful when you put them over the needles, and the needles break very easy. And I think a new cluster is around $300 so that mod isn't worth it to me. I just want to find some new bulbs or LEDs and see what happens from that.

Gauge cluster lighting

I went to auto zone and picked up some #194 lights (blue) for my cluster. When I changed them (the originals have only an orange cover that slips over the light), i could not even see anything. I don't think they'd even show up that great, if at all, at night time. any ideas or suggestions on a fix for this? the bulbs i bought are actually blue. they do not have a "sock" over them.

Yeah if you guys get new gauges and you want them like the vw's look for REVERSE INDIGLOW not just indiglow. The indiglow will just light up the entire gauge one color. If you just want the lines and numbers in blue and red then you want reverse indiglow, just giving a warning out there for those who dont know. You guys could try this site http://www.checkpointautoaccessories.com/ you have to call them to see if it works for your car though and for prices, they have a lot of different gauges and reverse indiglow crap there. And their pretty cheap a reverse indiglow boost gauge costs $85 and as soon as I told the guy I wanted one he was like oh I can get it for you for $75 if you get it now. I think their just trying to get popular but they seem pretty good. Keep updating if anyone finds anything.

For $25 dollars they have that opaque JDM paint for tail lights and headlights. You can remove that paint from the bulb, just leave it in a dixie cup with some acetone. Your girlfriend or wife should have some. Wipe them off with alcohol and spray them whatever color you want, they have a whole bunch of different colors.

if you replace the bulbs with colored ones you cant see your gauges

what i did was just remove the cover that lays over the factory bulb and the gauges get a s*** load brighter and the are more ORANGE!!

I've seen it in person.. Just scrape off the covers.

OK but is there a way to make them another color? I'm interested too, and willl be instlalling the Bodde rings so have to take the cluster out anyway...

Alright, here's the deal..

If you scrape off all of the orange plastic covering the lights, your lights look (to me) more yellowish. However, OrangeMSP saw them and think they look a bit more orange. Whatever. The cool thing is that around the gauge needle's base, there's a "halo" of light. It looks badass! Definately a cool, free mod to check out.

dude that glare in the clear gauge covering would be my downfall... looks good though, save for the glare (which may just be a photo thing" and not be as obnoxious in real life). Great color.
