I work with the City of Surrey and who blew through 152/Hwy 10 intersection...3 ghost cars with lights blazing and sirens bellowing. The cars...led by:
  1. Mazda6 sedan
  2. Toyota Camry
  3. my fav; a Nissan Maxima
I was sooo impressed (omg) by what I saw. I wish I had a camera to show all of you.

Ya I've seen a few unsuspecting ghost cars around here as well. I saw a 4 door Volvo ghost car a few months ago in Coquitlam, don't remember which one though. Most ghost cars are simple to spot, but the Volvo really caught me off guard. He pulled over the guy in front of me and it really threw me off.

yeah i've seen the volvo's...even saw a Benz too. I think they have also have a Bimmer, Mini. I've seen Chevy trucks galore....especially the silverado editions and the ford rangers. Believe it or not but I did see one cop driving a tercel as well.

Ghost cars...meaning undercover cops right?

Isn't there a way to spot them, is there something special about the lisence plate or the lights hidden in the back windshield?

The Tercel cars are the Surrey rent-a-cops, park board guys, wannabes, lol. It's simple to spot a ghost car. They all have a bigger radio antenna on the back, much bigger than stock ones. They also rarely ever have aluminum wheels, mostly steel. Look for tinted back windows as well, and you will usually still be able to see bars between the front and back seats. Also look for car numbers on the back windows, to identify the unit number. They tend to use dark colors for their cars too, rarely any white or light colored ones around, usually black, dark blue, dark green.

i live ways away, but yeah a dark green honda accord blew by me and pulled over the bright orange civic hatch with twin exhaust i was racing over... yeah i acutally stopped for the red light he didn't

the maxima i've seen is sand mica colored. the ghost cars up here are pretty stealth. most of them do have tinted windows. some have, but some don't have those large antenae. nothing special about the license plate. and by the time you get close enough to the car to see the bars or the unit number (sometimes usually pretty hard to see when they use a dark dark tint) you used to be able to see the light-box shadows in the rear window, but is alot harder now, they have a 1 inch bar that goes along the top on the inside so it's not as easy to spot. i suppose some are somewhat easy to spot in their cliche-ness, but some of the one's i've seen are down right... well... you'd have no chance till it was too late. (ie: no tint, burgundy, late 90's beretta with a vancouver canucks flag on the rear window!!! :O:O:O)

Please don't tell me you got pulled over by something like that, hahaha. The best one I saw was a total stock Caravan, dark red, absolutely nothing on it from what I could see that told me it was a ghost car. Quickly found out it was when a few blocks down, someone got pulled over by him, and he had the strobes and the red and blues goin in the front grill.

Think I've seen that one. Also saw a smaller GMC pickup pull someone over on Marine Drive just west of Boundary. I wonder if they're using many of these on Knight St lately, considering the crackdown on speeders going on there...

Haha, that's great. That reminds me of that video where the cop pulls over a guy into parking lot, but doesn't put his car in park. The cruiser rolls back onto the street and hit a pole I think, while he's running after it, all on dashboard camera, lol.
