new car..couple questions

I just got my MSP about 3 weeks ago, and it was a test drive vehicle w/ 650 miles on it.. i have a couple questions.

1. When the car is fully warm, i still get a very light smoke (like cold startup smoke) coming from the tailpipe. Normal?

2. In 2nd through 5th, when i punch it (all the way to the floor), the car has a couple hesitations that are noticable. I havent put my boost gauge on it yet to verify yet.

3. The car doesnt seem as fast at WOT as it does at 75% throttle.

Thanks, Regardless to all that, Im very happy i bought the car.

Jeff

a couple of you have talked about flashing the ecu or such, however searching did not net me any results.

I have the same problem as well. I tryed flashing it but the problem is still there. I have a boost gauge on mine and it reads 8psi through all gears but doesnt feel like it at all. The problem is that the car dumps out way too much fuel making the car run like crap.

You own a MSP - everything you described is normal.....well, the white smoke depends on how cold it is outside. If it's not cold (freezing or above) then it might not be normal.

If you think fuel is a problem I'd get a fuel gauge and A/F meter.. That is, if you don't mind your car looking like the cockpit of a plane, but hey, at least it might help you identify the problem.

I've never seen any smoke coming out of my tailpipe. I'd be concerned. I can just imagine the abuse a test driven car with 650 miles has taken.

If flashing the ECU doesn't solve the whole hesitation problem try installing a Joespmbc fuel pressure reduction kit. I have both and only very rarely can you notice the hesitation.
