New brakes on a 2003 MSP. Where and how much?
I need help in replacing brakes (rotors / pads / brake lines) on my 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege. My dealership wants 650$ to replace the front rotors alone, so I want to buy the hardware myself and give it to a decent mechanic to install (or perhaps do it myself?). I don't want to spend >$1000 on a big brake kit as I will never race the car / need that kind of power and I don't mind buying no-name rotors on ebay but I'm not sure if they are actually decent brakes. I also don't need cross drilled/slotted/etc... I just want good brakes.

So I plan on doing the following
-new rotors (Front and rear)
-new pads (Front and rear)
-maybe new stainless steel brake lines
-new fluid (Valvoline Synthetic)

My questions are:

1. Does anyone have any experience buying rotors on ebay?
2. What places (preferably in Montreal, but online and in Canada would be OK too) sell the above hardware at decent prices?
3. Any advice on who to get to install them? The dealer is ridiculous, and I'm not sure if I should try to do them myself as I am a Noob.

I went with a Centric rotors from Tri-point and Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads from Partsamerica.com. No noise, dust, or stopping issues. Very satisfied.
Whatever you get make sure they fit, 2001 626 front and 2004 6 rear. Don't believe the hype when they say they work on the MSP. P5 and Protege NA's use different disc and pads.

MSPs have bigger calipers and discs than Protege 5/Sedans.

I've never attempted to change my lines, but I got MSP-specific pads AND rotors for around $100 shipped (evilmonkey MSP pointed me to a company, but I can't for the life of me remember the name, and I've formatted my pc since then, so I can't dig through my history...). I installed them myself with the help from members and the hella instructional thread below:

I would highly recommend getting stainless steel lines. They really improve your brake pedal response. Because unlike rubber hoses the ss lines dont expand as much when you hit the pedal because of all the pressure.
