2007 Mazda 3i
Good morning all,

I have purchased my 2007 Mazda 3i back in 2006 when the 2007 year model came out. I have 130k and some change miles on it now and am looking to do the brakes for the first time as they are in need of changing. I have been doing some research as I do not want to spend the $$ on OEM brakes from Mazda. I see places like http://brakeperformance.com/index.php and eBay sites will sell a full set ( all 4 corners) for $160.00 and some reviews are hit and miss. Other than Auto Zone and or Pep Boys, who and or what would any of you guys recommend? I would like to get close to the same milage that I have now on the next set and seeing the "fancy" (hole drilled / slotted) ones brake apart as far as reviews go I would most likely stay away from those. Again looking to do a full replacement (Rotors and pads with hardware all around).

Thanks in advance

Mark

Its all depends on what your performance needs are, your budget, and how long you need it to last.

For straight performance Hawk makes some really great pads (performance can sometimes = brake dust and squeaks). I too would stay away from generic slotted\drilled rotors. Most folks, even autocrossers, are fine with stock brakes (in most classes). I would definitely stick with a namebrand on your brakes...but I honestly dont know on the namebrands of the actual rotors as I usually just order them through the autozones etc and you get what you get.

Good luck, im sure someone else that's done it will spill their knowledge.
