I checked and they both turn about 90*. No more than that though without extreme force. I don't think the noise is a belt after-all... I believe it's some harmonic squeal but it seems fairly harmless. I'll see if my wifes' P5 does the same thing at all (I never drive that car so I wouldn't know), but I don't think it does.
