Yes, that supports the front of the radio, but I need something to support the rear. The stock radio had a small black peg that fits into the metal piece behind the double din opening. It hooks up similar to the MP3 radio pocket. Right now my head unit is tilted up slightly, and the radio and mounting sleeve rattle sometimes.

yeah the stock MSP radio doesnt have that but you are right that is what the pocket is for.

So did you use anything to support it? Or is the Kenwood HU just light in the rear and doesn't have this problem?

The "Mounting sleeve" keeps it supported I believe

I guess my pioneer is heavier then, because even with the mounting sleeve it still hangs down in the back. I guess I'll have to rig something again :(

eventhough most nolonger come with them, go to any local stereoshop and ask them if they've got any plugs, for the rear, most HU's you'll notice have a threaded hole in the middle of the back of them. If oyu look at the dashbrace that runs behind the HU you'll notice it's got holes that they can slide into. Definately do this. makes things waymore rigid. if nothing else, you can get a screw that fits your deck(they're all different sizes) and then put the plug form your stock deck over it.

I thought of that too, and unscrewed the plug from my stock deck to do this. The pioneer deck doesn't have a threaded hole anywhere in back.
