New Addition to the Stable - Toyota Content

i still havent seen pics of the engine bay yet...i wanna see which engine is under the hood

It's the 2.2L 20R :) The engine is dirty as sin, and there's some soot on the bottom of the hood. It looks like it's due to quite possibly the most crude EGR setup I've ever seen (ugh)

Any suggestions for getting a very, very stuck oil filter off? I tried using filter wrenches of all different sizes and types, but there isn't much room to work with it, and they're having the un-nerving effect of crushing the filter casing instead of turning the thing off... No, I don't think the screw-driver trick will work for this case....

What exactly is the style? Slammed on tiny wheels?

With super stretched tires. No thanks...

BTW, it looks like Rota has RB sizes that may work, given the proper offset. Step 2: find proper offset. The wheels are 4x114.3 (aka 4x4.5"). WTF? lol

EDIT: I think I found brian's favorites of those 2 links:

Nice. I think I was just reading a thread on SCCAForums by some guy with the same bolt pattern (Sentra SE-R Spec V?) that was complaining about the impossibility of finding wheels. Good luck with that.

Sorry but these two attached below are badass in my opinion. I am not crazy abotu the hood extension on the Skyline but it isn't too bad, car is still rockin. I am really thinking about finding a RX2 or 3 to fix up. I found RX3 that is pretty nice but its $5K. I was thinking I could get the 7 running and drive it for a bit to learn the motor and carb, then pull the motor, sell the chasis and put the bridgeport into a RX2 or 3 chasis. I think I would like it if I could get a nice interior, the exterior can be redone easier I think. I really like that Celica Andrew. A 510 would be badass as well or a real old Z.

Scott, if you need money for that build, I know a certain 240sx that a certain someone is very interested in...The only stipulation would be that you'd most likely have to get it running and get the manual trans setup in there as he will not have a place to do so on base.

I <3 the old Japanese "muscle" cars, absolutely beautiful, especially when mixed in with a bit of new technology ala Datsun 510 with the Rb20Det in it.

Morning Michael...

good thing i barely saw those messages before they were Xed. We'll talk about it. I don' treally want to work on the 240, that's why it is where it is.

I'm having the same problem with the GTX....4x114.3. It's a tough size to find wheels for.

I was wondering. I was just looking at his profile and there were no infractions... Thought I was losing my s***.

something about exam week, the need to study and having no self control :p
