What dealer, dog? And shouldn't these dealers be saving these parts for actual 6 owners to be installed by them? Maybe demand is a lot less then expected?

Same part?

Same parts for all Mazda Connect (not TomTom) systems. Users on the 3 forum have already installed in CX-5 and CX-3 too. See page 1 of the thread, it explains it all nicely. One thing to note - Firmware MUST be upgraded before hardware is installed. I don't know why, but they clearly state that if you do the hardware first, it prevents firmware upgrade later. But you can upgrade Firmware and wait to upgrade hardware.

Apparently not all parts departments know what these new parts are for. The guy I talked to said "I would think i would have noticed a stack of 28 of each of these" - but when he saw them in Chicago, he also said i could have them the next day until he saw they were in the back.

I am not sure the Mazda 6 owners know about it yet. Someone mentioned that this is all a September release, so probably Mazda or dealer still needs to contact eligible 6 owners.

I got them at Dayton Ohio dealer, and they are small when it comes to Mazda sales. There are 2 larger dealers in the area, but this one was closest to me.

I read that if you plug the new parts in a system that has firmware older than V70, it goes into a reboot loop, so you cant update because every 10 seconds its rebooting itself. The workaround is keep the original unit in so you can upgrade FW first.

From what they said, I think they were a bit deceptive to the dealer, saying they had a Mazda 6.

Actually no.

The dealer want to look up the part that way even though i gave him the part numbers first. He could not, so he just used the part numbers. Officially they have only been released in the USA for the Mazda 6, but the documentation says they are the same for all.

The parts guy had no idea what they were for, and he didn't really care. He was only trying to make sure i got the right part for the right car.

Many others have walked into dealers with only part numbers and just bought the part. Mazda is trying to reserve the parts for Mazda 6 according to one online dealer, but he sold what extras he had to Mazda 3 owners.

Think its best to let the "guinea pigs" get it first it installed first by their dealer, wait a while until all the issues are ironed out then get it done.

They*ll get practice on the 6*s. Should be fine when it rolls to the rest.

New yes but was referring to retrofits.

Here new CX-9 update has just been announced with AA/ACP standard across the board.

But still no eta on retrofit for existing owners of MZD Connect equipped vehicles.

I thought they still had to retro the early production ones.

Here, the Mazda 3 of 2014 was the first to get MZD Connect. So any model (2, 3, 6, CX-3, CX-5, CX-8, CX-9) from then onwards that has MZD Connect is eligible for retrofit of AA/ACP.

As mentioned before, Mazda Australia still hasn't stated exact eta or cost for retrofit. Due later this year.

I mean specifically the refreshed 6. I think they didnt have AA/CP factory installed on early production cars. Those are the ones I think the my were upgrading for free.

If memory serves, early release 6's there in the USA are eligible.

Not here though.

They've been working ....er... "Working" on this for more then 3 years. I REALLY doubt there are bugs at this point. [emoji12]
