Powder coating won't save most truck/suv rims. I might have some luck scouring OEM wheels that match but I'll prolly go with something like those white ones (which coincidently are pretty cheap).
Good morning NEPOCers!!! So I'm nervous this morning. The wife took fireblaze to work because i have to take her car for 60k service. She got mad at me cuz i gave her specific instructions as to where to park so no one would hit or scratch it! LOL!!!
ya, the first trip out of your hands..it's a tough one...i remember robin came back with the protege and was so upset because she scraped the underside of the car on one of the concrete tire stops in the parking lots....i played it up for a few mins... then told her i did the same thing the day before! she do fine!!
Hmm, how about these (available at tire rack and most major online stores). They aren't as plain jane as the white steelies i posted on the previous page, but they aren't over the top like most truck rims.
Scouring the internet I only came up with one real photo of them. The photo below shows 15x8 but I would probably go with 15x7. It may change the depth a little. I know an 8 will fit in the rear but I don't think there is clearance in the front without using spacers. I'm also a bit concerned that the stock photo above on the left from TireRack is slightly different from the photo I found on the right which closely resembles the photo below. Either the design has changed, adding more meat to the center, or the stock photo from tire rack is a rendering that doesn't accurately portray the rim. Simply put, I would not have picked it based on the tire rack photo but this photo below makes them look pretty cool.
Trying to figure out the correct offset/backspacing I need. Not sure these wheels are available in 15" for the offset I need. I've been using an '84 Mazda Pickup to search because I know it has the same bolt pattern when it comes to offsets it could be all wrong.
Other news..... The 5 needs new sway bar bushings front and rear.... Also North End Mazda is looking into doing a Mazda Meet at their dealership. I am waiting for a phone call from the GM for info. Looking at mid May possibly. Any of you interested?
Found the rims above on a Datsun 620. Looks pretty good, again not too flashy, but not boring either. Only issue is I think they may stick out 1/4" beyond the fenders. From what I found, a backspace of 4" on a 7" wheel is ideal but most wheels I'm finding are 3.75". 8" wheels are pretty much a no-go on the front but are desirable on the rear.
This was my original idea with the Watanabes. Looks like this Datsun owner did a 4 bolt conversion. True Watanabes do come in 6 bolt configuration but the australian site I found only listed 6 bolt wheels in 8" or wider width.
